Pray for the Church
Praise God for His provision for our salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Ask Him to grow our trust in and reliance upon Him in every aspect of our lives. Pray for those struggling with doubt to find confidence in our Heavenly Father even while trying to understand Him. Ask God to use us to make HIm known.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Sav-A-Life Vestavia, a comprehensive pregnancy care ministry in three locations dedicated to offering free and confidential services in a loving environment to women, men, and families facing an unplanned pregnancy. Sav-A-Life Pregnancy Test Center offers hope by providing medical help and emotional support while sharing the love of Jesus Christ through word and deed. We’re also praying this week for The Church at Liberty Park and Pastor Randy Overstreet.
Day 1: Pray for clients who are facing an unplanned pregnancy to feel the hope, love, and compassion of Christ through their interactions with volunteers and staff at Sav-A-Life.
Day 2: Pray for opportunities for Sav-A-Life volunteers and staff to share the hope of the gospel in every interaction with clients as they seek to meet their physical and spiritual needs.
Day 3: Pray for the mothers and fathers in the Sav-A-Life education programs as they learn parenting skills and what it means to have Christ as the center of their families.
Day 4: Pray for the men and women who come into Sav-A-Life that are blinded to the truth of God’s love by their fear. Pray for their eyes to be opened to life-affirming options and to receive the truth of God’s Word as staff and volunteers share with them.
Day 5: Pray for women who have experienced the pain of abortion. Pray for them to seek healing, redemption, and hope. Also, pray they would not be afraid to come back to one of the Sav-A-Life centers for post-abortion medical and emotional care.
Day 6: Pray for people across Birmingham to support the three Sav-A-Life ministry locations with their time, prayer, and finances.
Pray for the World
This week, we are praying for Long-Termers, P and V. They live in Southeast Asia in a large urban city. They are both working professionals, which provides access to share on an ongoing basis with friends and coworkers. In addition, they are involved in a local fellowship where they have consistent opportunities for discipleship and partnership with believers.
Day 1: Pray for their city. It is an international city with a multitude of different ethnicities, including reached and unreached people groups. Pray for access for the people to hear the gospel and for those that hear to respond in faith.
Day 2: Pray for the churches in their city. Like most places in the world, the restrictions from Covid have had a major impact on church attendance. Pray that individuals will not be fearful to join in person with the Body of Christ regularly, and pray for a conviction to be invested in the church.
Day 3: Pray for their non-believing coworkers and friends. Different religions and beliefs are common topics of conversation for them. Pray for consistency and heart-level conversations with coworkers and friends that move past superficial and simple general beliefs.
Day 4: Pray for them to be faithful workers in the jobs God has entrusted to them, working heartily unto the Lord for His glory and praise. Pray for them to be faithful to the daily opportunities given to honor Him in what they do and say.
Day 5: Pray for their local church. It was a trying season with Covid and other difficult church dynamics. Pray for unity around the Word and a desire to serve one another and the city. Pray for the leaders as they seek wisdom on how to help the church process through this last season and move forward faithfully.
Day 6: Pray for P and V to honor God and each other in their marriage. Pray for it to be a clear example of the gospel to their neighbors and coworkers. Pray for their family and for their two daughters as they parent unto the glory of God. Praise God that they have gotten to see their family more regularly in the USA after a long season of being apart due to Covid.
