Pray for the Church
Praise God for all of the many resources with which He has blessed us. Ask Him to help us best steward those resources to our good and His glory. Pray for His wisdom and discernment as we consider our proposed ministry budget for 2018. Pray for His provision to meet budget. Pray for Him to grow our generosity and sacrificial giving. Ask Him to use our efforts to spread His gospel here and around the world.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for The Foundry Ministries, a local nonprofit organization that provides life-changing guidance and hope for the addict, the ex-inmate, and those in low-income communities. The Foundry is a haven where the broken can experience the love of Christ, find freedom, and discover purpose through a transitional housing environment and community ministries. We are also praying for First Baptist Montevallo and Pastor Terry Sutton.
DAY 1: Pray for the Foundry as they labor to see individuals break chains of drug and alcohol addiction by the power of the gospel.
DAY 2: Pray for those receiving meals, job training, clothing, household items, and health care from the Foundry’s rescue ministries. Pray for these tangible expressions of God’s love and provision to serve to adorn the gospel being preached.
DAY 3: Pray for the ex-inmates participating in the 6-month re-entry program. Pray they will repent of sin and receive the forgiveness of Christ. Pray they will be equipped with the tools they need to become reestablished in their communities.
DAY 4: Pray for the residents of The Foundry’s two 12-month recovery programs at Foundry Farm and Bessemer Campus. Pray they will experience freedom from addiction and freedom in Christ.
DAY 5: Pray for the recent opening of the Foundry’s new thrift store and for all four stores to have continued success in benefitting the men, women, and families in each of their programs.
DAY 6: Pray for financial favor and provision for The Foundry Ministries, specifically for the approval of a grant that they recently submitted.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for the peoples of Vietnam, specifically six unreached people groups that have very few believers or access to the gospel. Evangelical Christians make up about 1.8 percent of the peoples of Vietnam. Christians face persecution from the government and families, resulting in Vietnam receiving the #17 spot on the World Watch List for persecution of Christians. The Church at Brook Hills has strategic partnerships with the local church in Vietnam. Pray for God to continue using us to advance His Kingdom throughout Vietnam. For more information, visit prayforvietnam.org. We are also praying for our Short-Term team serving in Cambodia with Neverthirst.
DAY 1: The 55,000 Giay people live in remote villages of Northern Vietnam. There are fewer than 10 known believers among the Giay. Pray for the Giay to have the Scriptures translated into their own language. Pray for the small number of believers to grow and reach out to their neighbors with the gospel.
DAY 2: There are only a small number of believers among the 1.6 million Muong people in Northern Vietnam. Pray for the Muong believers to overcome their fear of gathering together to worship God and for bold proclamation of the gospel to their villages.
DAY 3: The San Diu people live in Northern Vietnam and worship their ancestors and a multitude of deities and spirits. This people group of 146,000 are unreached with the gospel. Pray for God’s Word to be translated into their language and for their eyes to be open to the one true God who deserves their worship.
DAY 4: The Tay are the largest ethnic minority people group in Vietnam (over two million), but there are only a few dozen believers. Pray for more laborers to help spread the seed of the gospel among the Tay.
DAY 5: The Mang are a very small and isolated people group in Northern Vietnam. There are only a handful of Mang who are even aware of the existence of the gospel. Pray for a movement of God among the Mang. Pray for God to send believers to the very isolated Mang. Pray for Christ to be made known among them.
DAY 6: The 900,000 Nung living in Northern Vietnam have less than 1% who believe in Christ. Pray for a concerted and focused church planting effort among the the Nung. Pray for many to believe in Christ.

10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)
Chorus
Bless the Lord O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
Verse 1
The sun comes up it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes
Verse 2
You're rich in love and You're slow to anger
Your name is great and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find
Verse 3
And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore
Come People of the Risen King
Verse 1
Come people of the Risen King
Who delight to bring Him praise
Come all and tune your hearts to sing
To the Morning Star of grace
From the shifting shadows of the earth
We will lift our eyes to Him
Where steady arms of mercy reach
To gather children in
Chorus
Rejoice rejoice let ev'ry tongue rejoice
One heart one voice
O Church of Christ rejoice
Verse 2
Come those whose joy is morning sun
And those weeping through the night
Come those who tell of battles won
And those struggling in the fight
For His perfect love will never change
And His mercies never cease
But follow us through all our days
With the certain hope of peace
Verse 3
Come young and old from ev'ry land
Men and women of the faith
Come those with full or empty hands
Find the riches of His grace
Over all the world His people sing
Shore to shore we hear them call
The truth that cries through ev'ry age
Our God is all in all
Christ is Mine Forevermore
Verse 1
Mine are days that God has numbered
I was made to walk with Him
Yet I look for worldly treasure
And forsake the King of kings
Chorus 1
But mine is hope in my Redeemer
Though I fall His love is sure
For Christ has paid for every failing
I am His forevermore
Verse 2
Mine are tears in times of sorrow
Darkness not yet understood
Through the valley I must travel
Where I see no earthly good
Chorus 2
But mine is peace that flows from heaven
And the strength in times of need
I know my pain will not be wasted
Christ completes His work in me
Verse 3
Mine are days here as a stranger
Pilgrim on a narrow way
One with Christ I will encounter
Harm and hatred for His name
Chorus 3
But mine is armour for this battle
Strong enough to last the war
And He has said He will deliver
Safely to the golden shore
Chorus 4
And mine are keys to Zion city
Where beside the King I walk
For there my heart has found its treasure
Christ is mine forevermore
Bridge
Come rejoice now O my soul
For His love is my reward
Fear is gone and hope is sure
Christ is mine forevermore
Man of Sorrows (Hallelujah! He Has Saved Me)
Man of Sorrows! what a name
For the Son of God, who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Guilty, vile, and helpless we
Spotless Lamb of God was He
“Full atonement!” can it be
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Hallelujah, He has saved me
Sin and death shall reign no more
Christ has made a way for sinners
Hallelujah, what a Savior
Lifted up was He to die
“It is finished!” was His cry
Now in heav’n exalted high
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
When He comes, our glorious King
All His ransomed home to bring
Then anew His song we’ll sing
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
