Scripture Memory
Pray for the Church
Praise God the Father for sending His Son, Jesus, to earth. Pray we will all readily remember the birth of the Christ Child we celebrate at Christmas. Rejoice in His salvation. Pray for all those who have not put their faith in Him to listen to the gospel and do so. Praise God for the eternal reign of Jesus Christ our King.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), a Christian ministry that has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high, and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impactvthe world for Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering, and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. We are also praying for Chelsea Village Baptist Church and Pastor Scott Slayton.
DAY 1: Pray for the local FCA staff as they seek, discern, and follow God’s direction in ministering to 90+ campuses in Jefferson and Shelby counties. Pray especially for Brook Hills’ member Teresa Chamblee as she coordinates various outreach efforts to girls and women through athletics.
DAY 2: Pray for the Lord to raise up two individuals and $50,000 in funding as FCA seeks to increase their staff in Birmingham by one Area Representative and one Administrative Assistant.
DAY 3: Pray for the Lord to provide $20,000 for Bibles and camp scholarships in preparation for 2018.
DAY 4: Pray for area coaches to be encouraged and empowered with the gospel of Jesus Christ through FCA relationships. Pray for fruitful gospel conversations with coaches and athletes.
DAY 5: Pray for area student-athletes to see ‘life change’ as a result of the gospel of Jesus Christ through FCA relationships.
DAY 6: Pray for new Christian coaches and athletes to rise up and impact their campus for Jesus through FCA.
