Pray for the Church
Praise God for His faithfulness and favor toward us. Ask Him to grow our trust and confidence in Him. Pray for us all to turn to praise Him regardless of our circumstances.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Birmingham Urban Young Life. Young Life is a Christian ministry with a mission to introduce adolescents to Jesus and help them grow in their faith. Urban Young Life serves the students of Restoration Academy, Putnam Middle School, Banks Academy, and Woodlawn High School. Their office is located on Huffman Baptist Church campus.
DAY 1: Pray that every student within the influence of Urban Young Life will have the opportunity to meet Christ and grow in their relationship with Him. Pray for boldness for our leaders in presenting the Gospel and for the Lord to even now be softening the hearts of the students.
DAY 2: Pray for the students involved with Urban Young Life to have a positive year. Pray for safety, health, and perseverance at their work. Pray for new positive friendships to form.
DAY 3: Pray for the families of the Urban Young Life Students. Pray that they also would be touched by the love of Christ and that their lives would be transformed.
DAY 4: Pray that the Urban Young Life leaders would be filled to the overflow with the love of Jesus so they can continue pouring out into the lives of teens. Pray that they would be consistent in their service so that their relationships with the students can deepen.
DAY 5: Pray for new leaders in the Birmingham area to feel the call to mentor students in the urban community. Pray that people would feel the burden to mentor, pray, and love students in hard places.
DAY 6: Pray for the gift of financial sustainability for Birmingham Urban Young Life. Pray for Sedrick Moore, the Executive Director, and the Board of Directors as they seek to steward well the resources provided for their work.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for the people of Morocco and our teams working in this country. 99% of the population are Muslim, and virtually all of those are Sunni. Only a small percentage of Morrocans have heard the gospel. Recently migration of peoples from Sub-Saharan Africa has brought many different peoples and some believers to North Africa on their way to Europe. Our team, and other believers in Morocco, face many challenges as they strive to make Christ known in this region.
DAY 1: Pray for wisdom and discernment for our teams as they develop strategies for reaching the unreached in Morocco. Pray that they would rely and depend on the Spirit's guidance as they build relationships, share their faith, and disciple new believers. Ask God to give them insight into the unique cultural and spiritual dynamics in Morocco and that they would be bold in their witness.
DAY 2: Pray that God would provide for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our team members and their families. Ask God to strengthen their spirits in times of loneliness, isolation, and cultural challenges. Pray that God would sustain, protect, and provide for their families and for those family members here in the states.
DAY 3: Pray for unity and cooperation among our teams. Pray that they would work together with a shared passion to reach the people of Morocco. Ask the Lord to foster a spirit of collaboration and humility as they strive to make Christ’s name known in Morocco.
DAY 4: Pray for a spiritual breakthrough in Morocco, that the gospel would spread and many people would come to faith in Christ. Pray that the Holy Spirit would soften hearts, open eyes, and reveal the truth of the Gospel. Ask God to raise up local believers who will become passionate disciple-makers and church planters.
DAY 5: Ask the Lord to strengthen the Church in Morocco. Pray that believers would “continue to walk in him, being rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as they were taught, and overflowing with gratitude” Colossians 2: 6-7 Pray that the Lord would provide our teams with all that they need to be an encouragement in their local church and persevere in the mission God has called them to.
DAY 6: Pray that the Church in Morocco would be deeply rooted in God’s Word. That leaders would be raised up who will faithfully preach the Word, especially when faced with persecution. Ask the Lord of the harvest to bring many to faith because of their faithfulness.
