Pray for the Church
Praise God for how He guards, protects, leads, and guides us. Thank Him for the men and women who have selflessly served our nation as members of our armed forces. Pray for God’s comfort for our veterans, for them to know His peace.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying the gospel would advance powerfully throughout the peoples and places in Birmingham and for God to use our faith family as ambassadors for Christ to boldly proclaim His message of reconciliation to those around us every day. We pray our faith family would use this holiday season to have gospel conversations and to boldly share their faith with those they encounter over the next few weeks during this holiday season. We are also praying for Meadowbrook Baptist Church and Pastor Chris Jones.
DAY 1: Pray our faith family would be delighted to share with others not only the gospel of salvation but our lives as well, sacrificing our comfort and our calendars for the sake of gospel advancement in our city. (1 Thessalonians 2:8)
DAY 2: Pray we would all initiate and nurture relationships with unbelievers, providing a clear demonstration of the Spirit’s power in our own lives. (1 Corinthians 2:4)
DAY 3: Pray for members of our faith family to be well-equipped and emboldened to share the gospel and for many who hear to trust in Christ. (Acts 4:29-30)
DAY 4: Pray for the Brook Hills ESL ministry and International Care Team. Pray for those serving with those ministries to have opportunities to share the gospel with the many nations visiting our classes and attending our holiday celebrations. (Matthew 24:14)
DAY 5: Pray for Birmingham to be filled with healthy, reproducing churches and disciple-making disciples, for us to bear much fruit, and for our fruit to abide. (John 15:16)
DAY 6: Pray for God’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done in Birmingham as His people surrender our calendars and comforts for the sake of gospel advancement. (Matthew 6:10)
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our long-termers, Taylor and Julia, serving in the Middle East with their three girls, Hali, Cia, and Eliza. God has used the disabilities of two of their girls to open unique doors and opportunities for their family to share the Good News and the hope they have in Christ. Join us in praying for them as a family and for their ministry in the Desert City.
DAY 1: Ask God to open the hearts of those in the disability community to His love and truth. Pray these kiddos, families, and caregivers will see themselves as precious image-bearers, created with purpose. Pray friendships in the Desert City will be filled with compassion, leading to moments where Taylor and Julia can boldly proclaim the hope of the gospel. Lift up the families and caregivers who face unique challenges. Pray for God’s peace and strength to surround them and for them to find true rest and comfort in Christ. Pray God would give Taylor and Julia the wisdom and margin to come alongside these families as they seek to serve and point them to Jesus.
DAY 2: Amid busy schedules, pray for moments Taylor and Julia can slow down, connect, and go deeper in relationships, especially as they enter the holiday season. Pray their home would be filled with people, a place where all who enter feel welcomed, loved, and pointed to Jesus. As they continue to engage their local neighborhoods, pray for boldness and wisdom to share the gospel. Ask the Lord to open doors for genuine, heartfelt talks about Jesus that glorify Him and stir up curiosity and desire for truth among everyone they meet. Ask God to save many, and pray churches would be planted in these neighborhoods.
DAY 3: In this digitally connected world, pray for wisdom and creativity as Taylor leads a team to prepare social media campaigns in various languages, reaching places otherwise hard to access. Pray every word, image, and interaction online would be filled with grace and truth, drawing seekers to Christ. Pray for divine appointments even through screens, and for online connections to lead to in-person engagement and meaningful follow-up.
DAY 4: With sickness coming in seemingly constant waves, ask God to protect and sustain Taylor and Julia physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Pray for patience and resilience, for them to draw strength from Him in times of illness and weariness. Pray for grace in the daily challenges, drawing us closer to the One who holds us fast.
DAY 5: Lift up Cia as she works with her therapists, Hali as she learns braille and math, and Eliza with her boundless, passionate energy. Pray for wisdom for Taylor and Julia as parents to nurture and disciple each of them in ways that reflect Christ’s heart. Ultimately, pray each of their girls would know and walk with Jesus all their lives.
DAY 6: As Thanksgiving and Christmas approach, pray Taylor and Julia’s home would be a place of welcome and witness, where others encounter God’s love and the hope of the gospel. Pray each gathering and moment would bring glory to God.
