Pray for the Church
Praise God for the wisdom He provides in His Word. Ask Him to help us all guard how we speak. Pray for our language to be saturated with love, compassion, and truth. Pray we will all be bold in our proclamation of the gospel.
Pray for the City
This week, we are praying for the International Friendship Partner Program, a community partnership through which Brook Hills’ members and others in our community are paired with international students at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Jefferson State Community College in order to extend hospitality and engage in friendly cultural exchange. We are also praying for Double Oak Community Church and Pastor Adam Robinson.
Day 1: Pray for many international college students to desire to participate in the program this year, and that all who participate will be warmly welcomed into the lives of American families.
Day 2: Pray for the Brook Hills members who are matched with international students to faithfully demonstrate the love of Christ to their friendship partners.
Day 3: Pray for the international students who do not yet know Christ to be open to learning about Him through conversations about God’s Word.
Day 4: Pray for much wisdom as Christians aim to honor the guidelines of this program while sharing their own culture, faith, and values with their friendship partner.
Day 5: Pray for the local colleges and churches participating in the program to be mutually encouraged through this partnership for years to come.
Day 6: Pray, as we seek to glorify God by making disciples of all nations, for God to bless the work of all who participate in the International Friendship Partner Program and for the gospel to multiply among many people groups.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Long-Termers Gary and Elizabeth Wilkins who are serving in Costa Rica. Gary and Elizabeth are serving in a ministry where they focus on advocating, preventing, intervening, and restoring those caught up in human trafficking in Central America. Through their ministry, they are seeing many men and women come to faith and be restored in Christ. Join us as we pray for Gary and Elizabeth. We are also praying for our short-term team serving in Costa Rica.
Day 1: Pray for God to open the eyes of those in human trafficking and give each person the assurance of His provision through Christ and for their lives to be transformed.
Day 2: Pray for local Christians to come alongside those born into the human trafficking lifestyle and those seeking to exit it.
Day 3: Pray for Gary and Elizabeth to rely on God’s Word as they counsel the people they are meeting with.
Day 4: Pray for the Brook Hills Short-Term team, led by A.T. and Lois Scott that are serving with Gary and Elizabeth this week, to be an encouragement to the work there. Pray for the team to have many opportunities to share the gospel with those they meet.
Day 5: Pray for Gary and Elizabeth to trust that Christ alone can deliver and restore each and every person they encounter with the gospel, no matter what their circumstance.
Day 6: Pray for God to give strength to Gary and Elizabeth as they emotionally and mentally engage with the life stories they are hearing and witnessing daily.
