Pray for the Church
Praise God for creating all people in His image. Ask God to use His Word to develop an ethic within each of us that values all life from conception to death. Pray for an end to abortion in our country and world. Pray for healing for all those who have been affected by abortion. Ask God to bring conviction and repentance in all of our lives regarding any ways we have devalued our fellow image bearers. Ask God to grant us strength to stand for all those vulnerable in our world and facing the threat of death from various injustices.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Brook Hills’ students of all ages who are beginning a new school year in the next couple of weeks. We also want to pray for their parents, teachers, administrators, mentors, tutors, and spiritual leaders as they work to equip their students to reach their full potential and enjoy God’s good design for their lives. We’re also praying for Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and Pastor Michael Wesley.
Day 1: Pray for our students to know, grow, and trust in Christ this year. Pray for them to know Christ more deeply, one step at a time.
Day 2: Pray for our students to take advantage of opportunities to influence friends, classmates, and school staff to know and grow in Christ. Pray they would be bold in displaying and declaring the gospel to others.
Day 3: Pray for all teachers and administrators to have wisdom, skill, sensitivity, patience, and endurance as they help students learn and grow, especially with the challenges created by the current pandemic.
Day 4: Pray for school administrators, parents, and community leaders to have great wisdom and skill as they seek to make wise decisions related to how best to educate our children during this pandemic.
Day 5: Pray for peace, patience, and the right amount of rest for students, parents, and staff. Pray for students, parents, and staff to grow in self-discipline and to not be anxious.
Day 6: Pray for parents as they guide, encourage, and support their students this year during the pandemic. Pray for all those who are taking on an extra load as they support the education of their children from home. Pray they would also be able to guide them toward strong faith in Christ.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Mid-Termers Andy and Bekah D. serving in Southeast Asia. Andy and Bekah were recently married here in the states and are preparing to return to their city in Southeast Asia where they live and work strategically for the advancement of the gospel and the planting of the church among the least reached. Due to the pandemic, they have been delayed in returning. Join us as we pray for Andy and Bekah.
Day 1: Praise God for bringing Andy and Bekah together in marriage last month. Pray for their new marriage and for God to help them as they grow together as a new couple. Pray for God to glorify Himself in their family and use it to show the gospel to others who are around them.
Day 2: Due to the realities of the pandemic, Andy and Bekah have been delayed in returning to their home country. Pray for God to provide a way to re-enter their country and to provide for their needs as they work out logistics. Pray for their hearts to not be anxious, but to trust in God’s timing.
Day 3: Bekah’s grandfather passed away last week and they have been caring for family while they are in the states. Pray for Bekah as she grieves the loss of her grandfather and ministers to her family during this season.
Day 4: There are exciting opportunities God has opened up for Andy and a ministry partner in their city. Pray for God to give Andy wisdom as he develops this new opportunity to engage the least reached in their city.
Day 5: Bekah works at a local international school in their city. Due to the delay in returning to their country she is working remotely at the beginning of this school season. Pray for God to help Bekah as she works in this odd situation and to remain steadfast until she can return to their city.
Day 6: Pray for God to make His name known among the least reached in the city Andy and Bekah call home. Pray for God to use their family to make Christ’s name known to those who have never heard.
