How Can I Go?

  • READY DAY ONE PARTY – SatURDAY, May 18, 9:30am-1:00pm
    Help us host children and families as Oliver ensures every student is registered and has everything they need for the next school year.

  • OLIVER WORK DAY – Saturday, August 3, 8:00am-Noon
    Serve on the campus of Oliver Elementary to help ensure they're ready for the new school year.

  • NORTHSTAR SOCCER AT OLIVER – Spring
    Our partners at NorthStar Soccer mentor students while sharing the hope of the Gospel through soccer. NorthStar is looking for volunteers to serve weekly with Oliver students immediately following school on either Mondays or Wednesdays with games on Saturday mornings.

  • TUTORING OR CLASSROOM BUDDIES AT OLIVER – Ongoing
    Oliver Elementary School has done a re-set this year and is ready to utilize tutoring volunteers in the strategic ways. They are currently seeking 25 reading tutors and 25 math tutors (biggest need) to serve with students one-on-one or in small group settings. In addition to tutors, Oliver is also looking for breakfast buddies to serve as mentors for a small group of kids one morning a week and for special needs buddies to assist in the learning process for children with IEP's weekly or bi-weekly.

  • OAK TREE MINISTRIES – Ongoing
    Oak Tree Ministries is one of our partners located in Gate City. Oak Tree Ministries partners with Brook Hills to build disciple-making relationships, bring relief and rehabilitation, and restore families in Marks Village to enjoy God’s good design for their lives. Oak Tree needs volunteers for tutoring, Bible club, Teen Time, and more.

  • DISCOVERY CLUBS – Ongoing
    Discovery Clubs is a ministry of the Birmingham Metro Baptist Association and brings the Bible into schools through after-school clubs. Discovery Clubs are looking for additional volunteers to serve at Oliver Elementary School on Thursday afternoons immediately following school.

  • SERVING YOU MINISTRIES – Ongoing Serving You Ministries is a strategic part of the Love Oliver ecosystem in that they provide crisis relief when an unexpected event negatively affects one of our Oliver families. Serving You provides support through a client-choice food pantry, emergency utility assistance, and budgeting classes. Serving You is currently looking for weekly and bi-weekly volunteers to serve as chaplains, food pantry volunteers, and hospitality.
