Baptism
We're Excited for You!
Turning from sin and trusting in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior in response to His gospel is the most important decision you will ever make. Following your personal commitment to receive His gift of salvation and submit your life to His lordship, an important next step in your spiritual journey is to be obedient with believer’s baptism. Baptism is a public testimony of what Christ has done in your life as a Christ-follower. It is a symbolic picture of death, burial and resurrection, and new life as well as your commitment to Christ and to His church. When you are baptized, you are obeying Christ's command in the Bible for all believers, and you are telling the world that Jesus Christ is the Lord of your life.
If you are a parent whose child is interested and ready to pursue baptism, please contact the BH Kids Team via email at or by phone at (205) 313-7728.
Baptism & Membership
At Brook Hills we believe that biblical baptism is symbolic—it doesn't "save" you—but is very important in the life of every believer. When someone is baptized, the intention is that they are being baptized into the church. So, in addition to your baptism, our desire is to also see you become a member and officially join Brook Hills. We require that those desiring membership at Brook Hills be baptized by immersion—either previously at the time of your commitment to Christ or when you desire membership at Brook Hills.
Prepare to Tell Your Story
The first step in preparing for your baptism following your profession of faith in Jesus Christ is to write out your testimony, which is simply your personal story of God led you to hear, understand, and believe the gospel and about arriving at your personal decision to submit your life to the lordship of Christ. You will read this story in front of the church when you are baptized.
To write your testimony, please complete the "God's Story and My Story" assignment available at the link below. This is also required as part of our membership process. You’ll want to work together with an elder or deacon (staff member, small group leader, or another ministry leader) to ensure the clarity of your story. If you do not know an elder or deacon, we can assist in connecting one to you.
GOD'S STORY AND MY STORY ASSIGNMENT
Once you've prepared your testimony with the help of an elder or deacon, you can then schedule your baptism at the link in the menu on the right.
