This Week
Scripture Memory
Pray for the Church
Praise God for the gift of His Word and ask Him to increase our commitment to and hunger for the Scriptures throughout this year. Ask God to help each of us individually and us corporately as a faith family to grow in our faith. Pray for strength and perseverance to resist temptation. Ask Him to give us wisdom and discernment as we examine our lives for the areas where God desires for us to grow.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Brook Hills’ students of all ages who have just returned to school after the holidays. We want to pray for their parents, teachers, administrators, mentors, and spiritual leaders as they seek to equip them to reach their full potential and enjoy God’s good design for their life in 2018. We are also praying for Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church and Pastor Bob Flayhart.
Day 1: Pray for all of our students to learn more about following Jesus, grow in their relationship with Jesus, and trust Jesus more this year.
Day 2: Pray for our students to take advantage of opportunities to influence friends, classmates, and school staff for the sake of the gospel. Pray for gospel conversations for each of them.
Day 3: Pray for teachers and administrators to have wisdom, sensitivity, and endurance as they help their students learn and grow. Pray especially for Christian teachers and administrators to reflect the character of Christ to those they work with and influence.
Day 4: Pray for our students to grow in knowledge, maturity, and skill as they learn new things this year.
Day 5: Pray for the right amount of rest for students and teachers.
Day 6: Pray for parents as they guide, encourage, and support their students this year.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Long-Term Missionaries, Dwight and Mary Kay Martin, serving in Thailand. Dwight and Mary Kay were commissioned from The Church at Brook Hills many years ago and currently serve with Cross Ties Asia. Their role is to lead a ministry that supports and mobilizes the Thai church for evangelism, disciple-making, and church planting. Dwight and Mary Kay have led the development of a software that helps map out where unreached people groups still exist in Thailand and help with translation and distribution of disciple-making materials for pastors. Join us as we pray for Dwight and Mary Kay Martin. For more information, visit crosstiesasia.org.
Day 1: Praise God for the church in Thailand. Praise God for the vision He has given to Thai pastors to share the gospel in villages and communities where unreached people groups still exist in Thailand. Pray for the Spirit to equip them for this work.
Day 2: Pray for believers throughout Thailand to be faithful to share the gospel and for the pastors to equip their people for the work of evangelism.
Day 3: Dwight and Mary Kay are very busy with the work the Lord is accomplishing through them. Pray for times of rest.
Day 4: Pray for the Lord to provide the resources needed to continue ministry each year in Thailand.
Day 5: Pray for the Thai church to continue to grow in their love for Christ and to be obedient to make disciples.
Day 6: Pray for God to continue to glorify Himself through Dwight and Mary Kay’s ministry. Pray for their year to be fruitful as they host teams and continue to serve the local church there in Thailand.

Glorious Day
Verse 1
I was buried beneath my shame
Who could carry that kind of weight
It was my tomb 'til I met You
Verse 2
I was breathing but not alive
All my failures I tried to hide
It was my tomb 'til I met You
Chorus
('Cause when) You called my name (and)
I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
You called my name (and) I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
Verse 3
Now Your mercy has saved my soul
Now Your freedom is all that I know
The old made new Jesus when I met You
Bridge
I needed rescue my sin was heavy
But chains break at the weight of Your glory
I needed shelter I was an orphan
Now You call me a citizen of Heaven
When I was broken You were my healing
Now Your love is the air that I'm breathing
I have a future my eyes are open
Death Was Arrested
Verse 1
Alone in my sorrow and dead in my sin
Lost without hope with no place to begin
Your love made a way to let mercy come in
When death was arrested and my life began
Verse 2
Ash was redeemed only beauty remains
My orphan heart was given a name
My mourning grew quiet my feet rose to dance
When death was arrested and my life began
Chorus 1
Oh Your grace so free washes over me
You have made me new now life begins with You
Verse 3
Released from my chains I'm a prisoner no more
My shame was a ransom He faithfully bore
He cancelled my debt and He called me His friend Oh
When death was arrested and my life began
Chorus 2
Oh Your grace so free washes over me
You have made me new now life begins with You
It's Your endless love pouring down on us
You have made us new now life begins with You
Oh yes it does
Verse 4
Our Savior displayed on a criminal's cross
Darkness rejoiced as though Heaven had lost
But then Jesus arose with our freedom in hand
That's when death was arrested and my life began
That's when death was arrested and my life began
Bridge
Oh we're free free forever we're free
Come join the song of all the redeemed
Yes we're free free forever amen
When death was arrested and my life began
Ending
When death was arrested and my life began
That's when death was arrested and my life began
His Mercy is More
Verse 1
What love could remember no wrongs we have done
Omniscient all knowing He counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Verse 2
What patience would wait as we constantly roam
What Father so tender is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest the vilest the poor
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Verse 3
What riches of kindness He lavished on us
His blood was the payment His life was the cost
We stood 'neath a debt we could never afford
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Chorus
Praise the Lord His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness new every morn
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Worthy of Your Name
Worthy Of Your Name
Verse 1
Rumors of the Son of Man
Stories of a Savior
Holiness with human hands
Treasure for the traitor
No ear has heard no eye has seen
The image of the Father
Until heaven came to live with me
A rescue like no other
Chorus 1
(Yes) You are worthy
You are worthy of Your name
You are worthy yes You are
You are worthy of Your name Jesus
Verse 2
You did not speak You made no sound
You died for Your accusers
And as Your blood fell to the ground
You redefined my future
Yeah on the day that You arose
The darkness ran for cover
For the King of kings has claimed His throne
Now until forever
Bridge
You're my author my maker my ransom my Savior
My refuge my hiding place
You're my helper my healer my blessed Redeemer
My answer my saving grace
You're my hope in the shadows
My strength in the battle
My anchor for all my days
And You stand by my side and You stood in my place
Jesus no other name
Only Jesus no other name
Chorus 2
You are worthy
You are worthy of Your name
You are worthy yeah
You are worthy of Your name
You are worthy
You are worthy of Your name
You are worthy yes You are
You are worthy of Your name Jesus
Not in Me
No list of sins I have not done
No list of virtues I pursue
No list of those I am not like
Can earn myself a place with you
O God! Be merciful to me
I am a sinner through and through
My only hope of righteousness
Is not in me, but only You
No humble dress, no fervent prayer
No lifted hands, no tearful song
No recitation of the truth
Can justify a single wrong
My righteousness is Jesus' life
My debt was paid by Jesus' death
My weary load was borne by Him
And He alone can give me rest
No separation from the world
No work I do, no gift I give
Can cleanse my conscience, cleanse my hands
I cannot cause my soul to live
But Jesus died and rose again
The power of death is overthrown
My God is merciful to me
And merciful in Christ alone
My righteousness is Jesus' life
My debt was paid by Jesus' death
My weary load was borne by Him
And He alone can give me rest
And He alone can give me rest
