Praise God for His mercy and patience with us. Pray for us all to grow in our awe of who He is and our confidence in His power at work within us. Ask Him to awaken us more and more to our need for Him and our trust in and reliance upon His Spirit. Pray for us all to urge one another on in obedience to His Word.

This week we are praying for Mission Increase, a Christian foundation that helps over 110 Christian nonprofits in Central Alabama grow by offering teaching, coaching, and consulting rooted in a biblical approach to fundraising – all at no cost to ministries. The purpose of their training is to strengthen Christian nonprofit ministries in order that more people will believe the Gospel and experience Kingdom living. We are also praying for Shades Mountain Community Church and Pastor Rick Goertzen.

Day 1: Pray for ministry leaders throughout the Central Alabama region. Pray that God will strengthen and encourage them to fulfill their calling. Pray specifically for Christian nonprofit leaders you may know – that they would be filled and empowered with the Holy Spirit.

Day 2: Pray for generosity in our region to increase. Pray that more givers would “do good, be rich in good works, be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.” (I Timothy 6:18,19)

Day 3: Pray for collaboration and unity to be expressed among Christian nonprofits, local churches, and the other sectors of our community. Ask God to help Christian nonprofit leaders to cooperate and collaborate in answer to Jesus prayer “that they would be perfected in unity.” (John 17:23). Ask God to bring unity and strategies as Mission Increase leads nine Affinity Groups and quarterly Cause Conversations with church, business, nonprofit and government leaders gathering to solve our community’s deepest problems with Kingdom solutions.

Day 4: Pray for Mission Increase as they teach, coach, and consult about a Biblical approach to fundraising and organizational development – all at no cost to the ministries they serve (thanks to the generosity of partners like Brook Hills!). Intercede for Kevin Moore, Area Director of Mission Increase Central Alabama, as he impacts ministries in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Montgomery.

Day 5: Pray for nonprofit boards to engage and steward their God-given callings and gifts to lead. Ask God to raise up more board members who have gospel concern for our city.

Day 6: Pray for nonprofit leaders to view fundraising as ministry. Pray that God will use Mission Increase to empower Christian ministry leaders to see their role in fundraising as a joyful calling, journeying with their donors on a mutually encouraging, discipleship pathway.

This week we are praying for the College Trip heading to Amsterdam. They will be working with a team that serves 2nd and 3rd generation refugees in a Muslim community.

Day 1: Pray for the team as they travel and arrive in Amsterdam. Pray for smooth logistics and for a safe arrival. Pray that they will integrate well with the local team on the ground. Pray that they will sleep well and adjust to jet lag quickly.

Day 2: Today, the team will be prayer walking around the city. Pray that they would seek the Lord and seek the people that he has prepared in advance to hear the gospel. As they walk, they will be mapping the area to see what populations of people live in these areas. Pray forwisdom in their conversations and that they would be light in the community.

Day 3: Pray for the team as they help with a BBQ for the refugee community. Pray that they would make good connections. Pray that they would share the gospel boldly and with love.

Day 4: Pray for the 10 college students on this trip to be impacted by their time in Amsterdam. Pray that their worldview would be broadened and that their hearts would be softened to the work God is doing around the world.

Day 5: Pray boldly for the gospel to go forth in Amsterdam, and especially in the refugee communities. Pray that his kingdom would come and his will would be done. Pray for encouragement and boldness for local believers.

Day 6: Pray for the local missionary team. Pray for their team leaders, who are going on stateside assignment for 6 months. Pray for the team that will remain in Amsterdam to have clear vision and unified hearts as they serve without team leaders for the next 6 months. Praise God for the recent baptism service and for this new believer. Praise God also for the Galentine’s party they had with a group of Muslim women. Pray for fruit to come from this party.
