Pray for the Church
Praise God for the salvation He offers us by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Ask God to lead us all toward repentance and obedience. Pray for Him to develop humility within each of us.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the Birmingham Metro Baptist Association, a cooperative effort of local Southern Baptist churches working together to create gospel advancement opportunities that reach beyond the efforts of an individual congregation. The mission of BMBA is to encourage, equip, and engage churches in the Great Commission across Metro Birmingham and beyond. We are especially praying for Chris Crain, the Executive Director. This week we are also praying for Sixth Avenue Baptist Church and Dr. John Cantelow.
Day 1: Pray for the 173 churches in the Birmingham Metro Baptist Association. Please also pray for their pastors, staff, and leaders.
Day 2: Pray for the BMBA Partner Center, which is the home of 11 faith-based nonprofits and two BMBA churches.
Day 3: Pray for the new Sav-A-Life clinic that will be housed on the third floor of the BMBA building. Construction is nearly complete, and the clinic will be open in the spring of 2022. Please pray for the Sav-A-Life leadership and for the ministry that will be conducted in this new clinic.
Day 4: Pray for the BMBA churches on the revitalization pathway, led by Dr. Josh Cook, the BMBA Revitalization Specialist. Pray for church partnerships and renewed community engagement for the gospel.
Day 5: Pray for the BMBA’s evangelism task force for the World Games, led by Tim Wheat, Pastor of Missional Living at Shades Mountain Baptist Church. Pray for opportunities for evangelistic encounters with the thousands of people from around the world who will be coming to Birmingham this July.
Day 6: Pray for Dr. Chris Crain, BMBA Executive Director, and his staff as they continue to fulfill the mission of the BMBA to encourage, equip, and engage churches in the Great Commission.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our college students who are serving on the Desert City short-term team in the Middle East. We praise God for the opportunity we have had to send nine different teams since last October. These teams have had the privilege to engage people from all over the world who were in the city for various reasons. Many gospel conversations have happened, and we pray God continues to move in the hearts of men and women who have heard. Pray for our college students as they close this season of short-term teams mobilized to the Desert City.
Day 1: Praise God for the opportunities our Desert City teams have had to meet people from all over the world and to share the gospel with them. Pray for conversations that many are continuing to have. Pray for God to move in the hearts of these men and women to believe in Christ.
Day 2: Pray for our college students who are serving this week in the Desert City. Pray for God to help them not get distracted from the primary reason they are there, and to open doors for them to meet new people who are interested in hearing about Jesus.
Day 3: Pray for our college students to be an encouragement and joy to the partners and believers who are in the Desert City.
Day 4: Pray for the men and women our team will meet this week to be open to conversations. Pray for our team to be winsome as they show kindness and hospitality to those they encounter. Pray for God to connect people to our team who are seeking to find hope.
Day 5: Pray for God to be honored through the efforts of our Desert City teams. Pray for God to cause the seeds of the gospel to fall on good soil, for others to come along and water the seeds, and for many to believe and grow fruit.
Day 6: Pray for God to raise up more men and women from Brook Hills to serve in the Desert City on short-term teams, and as both Mid-Termers and Long-Termers, in the future.
