Pray for the Church
Praise God for granting us the privilege of talking with Him in prayer. Ask Him to help us all develop lives of prayer. Pray for God to grow our trust in Him knowing He hears and answers our prayers.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the families of Oliver Elementary School and the Love Oliver Campaign that launches today. Through Love Oliver, Brook Hills has the opportunity to join the families and partners of Oliver Elementary in overcoming the economic, academic, spiritual, and social barriers that the Oliver families face while pointing them to the perfect redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Find out how you can “Love Oliver” at brookhills.org/loveoliver. We are also praying for 45th Street Baptist Church, East Lake, and Pastor Andra Sparks.
DAY 1: Oliver families are up against a host of economic, academic, and spiritual hurdles. Pray for God to enable us to minister to their tangible needs and point them to the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Pray God would call other Christ-followers to serve them in Jesus’ name.
DAY 2: Pray for those serving as mentors to Oliver students through Discovery Club, Breakfast Club, Lunch Club, Oak Tree Ministries Reading and Bible Clubs, Aspire Movement, STAIR tutoring, and as classroom buddies. Pray for God to lead the mentors serving in these roles to exemplify the unconditional, selfless love of Christ.
DAY 3: Pray for God to save and raise up a generation of young disciples at Oliver Elementary School and through Oak Tree Ministries who will let their light shine among their peers and families.
DAY 4: Pray for the Love Oliver campaign as we aim to raise $40,000 by June 3 for school supplies, uniforms, and classroom resources to help relieve the financial burden on Oliver families as they prepare for the first day of school.
DAY 5: Pray for Oak Tree Ministries, a partner of Love Oliver and Brook Hills, as they provide relief, development, and discipleship opportunities for Oliver families through the Sunday Bible Club, after school Reading Club, Teen Hang Time, Women’s Fellowship, and other avenues.
DAY 6: Pray for our faith family and community partners to work together in unity to invest time, care, resources, and prayer into our neighbors at Oliver and that God would do a transforming work in the Gate City community.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for the Hausa people of Nigeria. Nigeria has a total population of over 186 million people, and over 30 million of them are Hausa. In fact, the Hausa are the largest ethnic group in all of West Africa. Although English is recognized as the country’s official language, Hausa – the native language of the Hausa people – is rapidly becoming the chief language of northern Nigeria. The Hausa are very influential in West Africa, both culturally and politically. The Hausa culture is strongly linked to Islam, which makes it difficult to reach this people group with the gospel. There is a lot of prejudice against the Christians of southern Nigeria, and there has been intense persecution of the Christian Hausa. Join us as we pray for the Hausa. We are also praying for our teams serving in North Africa and East Asia.
DAY 1: Less than 1% of the Hausa population are Evangelical Christians. Pray for God to open the hearts of the Hausa to the gospel.
DAY 2: Ask God to encourage and sustain the small number of Hausa believers. Pray for them to be bold in the face of family pressures and persecution.
DAY 3: Thank God for the translation of the Bible into the Hausa language. Pray for the power of God’s word to transform the Hausa.
DAY 4: Pray for a healthy, multiplying church to be raised up among the Hausa people.
DAY 5: The Hausa have many physical needs, and life can be difficult in Nigeria. Nearly one third of the people are unemployed, and the life expectancy is only 56 years. Pray for God to open opportunities for believers to influence and meet the physical needs of the Hausa in Jesus’ name.
DAY 6: Ask the Lord to raise up and call out more believers who are willing to share Christ with the Hausa.

Nothing But the Blood
Verse 1
What can wash away my sin
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Chorus
O precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Verse 2
For my pardon this I see
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
For my cleansing this my plea
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Verse 3
Nothing can for sin atone
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Naught of good that I have done
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Verse 4
This is all my hope and peace
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
This is all my righteousness
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Bless the Lord (Son of Man)
Son of Man, Son of Righteousness
King of the earth for sinners slain
I was lost in darkness bound
You ransomed my heart and I will sing
My strength, My deliverer
The One who rescues me
My hope, My redeemer
Your love has set me free
Bless the Lord, O my soul (4x)
In the splendor of Your majesty
From deep within my spirit sings
Holy, holy
Bless the Lord, O my soul (4x)
In Tenderness
Verse 1
In tenderness He sought me
So weak and sick with sin
And on his shoulder brought me
Into his flock again
While angels in his presence sang
Until the courts of heaven rang
CHORUS 1
Oh the love that sought me
Oh the love the bought me
Wondrous grace that brought me home to God
Verse 2
He called this needy sinner
He spoke His words of life
He whispered to assure me
I found thee, thou art mine
I never heard a sweeter voice
It made my aching heart rejoice
(CHORUS 1)
Verse 3
His grace I'll daily ponder
And tell of his great love
Yet deeper, brighter, purer
I'll know these things above
It seems as if eternal days
Are far too short to sing his praise
CHORUS 2
Oh the love that sought me
Oh the blood that bought me
Oh the love that sought me
Oh the blood that bought me
Wondrous grace that brought me home to God
Wondrous grace that brought me home to God
No Condemnation
There is no condemnation
For those in Christ Jesus
By His blood I have been made free
There is no condemnation
For those in Christ Jesus
By His blood I have been redeemed
Because of His forgiveness
I don't have to live with shame anymore
Because of His redemption
There's no more condemnation, there's no more
Christ who died raised to life
Made a way for me
There's no depth, there's no height
That can separate me
