Pray for the Church
Praise God for making a way for us to have our relationship restored with Him. Pray for Him to help grow our faith even when we are facing difficult times. Pray we will all turn to Him even when we have messed up and made mistakes. Ask for God’s ongoing grace and mercy in our lives.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Metro Changers, a faith-based organization located at the Metro Birmingham Baptist office building that equips groups of volunteers to work together to provide exterior home repair services, exterior painting, and accessibility ramps at no cost to elderly or low-income homeowners within the city of Birmingham. We’re also praying for Antioch Community Church and Pastor Kevin Naylor.
Day 1: Pray for many new volunteers to sign up to serve this year. Metro Changers needs volunteers in order to help those in need in Birmingham. Pray for those already signed up to participate to grow deeper in their personal walk with Christ through serving others.
Day 2: Pray for the homeowners and other members of the community who will be served by Metro Changers this year. Pray that they will see the love of Christ on display and will have the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
Day 3: Pray for more homeowners to hear about Metro Changers and the services provided at no cost. Pray that they will complete the homeowner application and Metro Changers can process it quickly and have volunteers available to serve.
Day 4: Pray for more local congregations to look for strategic ways to be involved in urban ministry. Pray for more churches to partner with organizations like Metro Changers to show the gospel by meeting physical needs and sharing the gospel through relationships built.
Day 5: Pray for all of the neighborhoods where Metro Changers will work in 2022. Pray for God to move through the local church and that many will come to saving faith. Pray for followers of Jesus who live in those neighborhoods to be bold in sharing their faith and pointing others to Jesus.
Day 6: Pray for the staff and leadership at Metro Changers as they seek God’s will in serving low-income families and the elderly in Birmingham through home repair. Pray for the financial resources needed to accomplish the ministry they have been called to lead.
Pray for the World
This week begins the month-long celebration of Ramadan for 1.8 billion Muslims in the world. For this month, Muslims all over the world will abstain from food, drink, and other pleasures during the day in order to try and remove their sin and draw closer to God. The Church at Brook Hills has strategically sent out workers and church planting teams to many Muslim people groups around the world for gospel engagement. Join us this week as we pray for Muslim men and women.
Day 1: Pray for God to soften the hearts of Muslim men and women to the gospel, and for Christ to be revealed and lead them in the way of truth (John 14:6).
Day 2: Pray for all of our Brook Hills members working with Muslim people to have boldness, courage, and passion as they proclaim the good news of Christ to their Muslim friends this month.
Day 3: Pray for God to teach us something new about His inexhaustible love for all of His children, and to stir our hearts to love our Muslim neighbor as ourselves.
Day 4: Pray for God to open creative opportunities for Brook Hills members to engage their Muslim neighbors in Birmingham during Ramadan. Pray for God to provide opportunities for genuine friendships and gospel conversations.
Day 5: Pray for God to reveal himself to many Muslims during Ramadan in dreams and visions.
Day 6: Ramadan allows for heightened spiritual awareness for Muslims. Pray for God to save those who are seeking Him. Pray for the message of salvation by grace and through faith in Christ alone to be proclaimed to Muslim men and women. Pray for God to receive the praise that is due to His name among all peoples.
