Pray for the Church
Praise God for those in our faith family who recently graduated or soon will be graduating from high school, college, and graduate school. Pray for God to help them hold fast to their faith and to the counsel of His Word throughout their future endeavors. Ask the Spirit to graciously and clearly guide them in the steps they should take. Pray for God to use them to spread His gospel and to build up His church as they do all things for His glory.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Serving You Ministries, a Christ-centered non-profit organization in East Lake serving as a ministry arm of local churches and corporations by partnering with them to reach a lost and hurting world through crisis relief and benevolence ministry. Serving You Ministries partners with Brook Hills to serve both Love Oliver families from Mark’s Village and international families involved in our ESL program. We’re also praying this week for North Park Baptist Church and Pastor Bill Wilks.
Day 1: Pray for the staff and volunteers at Serving You Ministries to become increasingly Christ-like in showing grace, love, and compassion to those in need. Pray that their love would be examples of God’s great love in both word and deed.
Day 2: Pray that those serving in each area of ministry would be empowered to boldly share the gospel with everyone that enters Serving You’s doors. Pray for salvation among those being served and for discipleship to begin among those choosing to follow Jesus.
Day 3: Pray for those seeking support and financial assistance through Serving You Ministries to have their physical and spiritual needs met and for a sustainable plan to be put in place for the future.
Day 4: Pray for the single moms seeking assistance to begin thriving as the chains of economic, relational, and spiritual poverty are broken through the gospel. Pray that they would be the spiritual leaders of their households and share the love of Christ with their children.
Day 5: Pray for the immigrants and refugees seeking assistance to find support while working to put down roots in Birmingham. Pray that they would come to understand the gospel, find a community of believers, and begin to flourish in our city.
Day 6: Pray for Serving You Ministries to continue to be a light in Birmingham and for the surrounding community to see God’s love and provision through them. Pray that God would receive much glory through their work.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Nia M. in Central Asia. She serves missionaries as a resource to the local church by sowing seeds of good news and making disciples, and giving educational and emotional support to the children.
Day 1: Pray for good soil in the hearts of locals and missionary kids with whom Nia comes in contact.
Day 2: Pray for Nia to be loving and bold in her witness in word and deed.
Day 3: Nia is planning to open an education center for missionary kids. Pray for the Lord to bring together all the people and resources for this dream to become a reality.
Day 4: Pray for continued access in the country for Nia and the other missionaries in the form of reliable visas.
Day 5: Pray for unity within the local body of the Spirit through the bonds of peace.
Day 6: Pray for Nia to rest in and rely on the Lord for her contentment and peace.
