Pray for the Church
Praise God for the peace He so graciously bestows upon us, even in spite of the circumtances in which we find ourselves. Ask Him to grow us through our study of His Word and to produce fruit within us and through our lives obediently surrendered to Him. Pray for Him to help us all live in the present in light of the future hope we have in Him.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the Aspire Movement, a local Christian mentoring ministry aimed at developing and deploying the next generation of leaders through mutually transforming relationships. Aspire focuses on the mental, physical, spiritual, and social development of youth through life-on-life mentoring. Aspire also provides additional resources such as small group mentoring, college trips, and a network of resources to shape students’ identities, purposes, and destinies. We’re also praying this week for Rock City Church and Pastor Mike McClure, Jr.
Day 1: Pray for the Aspire Movement as they continue to work toward the implementation of their new initiative, Launchprep. Launchprep provides career-specific mentorship and curriculum to high school students, exposing them to the mentor’s industry and providing support as the student enters the workforce. Pray for the ongoing development of a robust curriculum, and for energy and resources to efficiently and effectively implement Launchprep.
Day 2: Pray for new ministry partners through Launchprep. Ask God to build bridges between Aspire and Kingdom-minded business professionals willing to leverage their expertise, network, and resources for employment opportunities for the youth in our city.
Day 3: Pray for wisdom for the Aspire board and staff. Their staff has grown and so has their reach and impact. Pray for discernment as they lead and support volunteers, school staff, business owners, and students.
Day 4: Pray for mentors to persevere in engaging with their students. Pray for successful avenues of conversation and friendship with their students. Pray for the gospel to illuminate their time together. Additionally, pray for Aspire to find creative new ways to recruit new mentors and new students.
Day 5: Pray for the students who Aspire Movement reaches through their ministry. Pray for the Lord to meet the kids where they are, change their hearts and lives, and empower them to see His purpose in their lives throughout elementary, middle, high school, and beyond.
Day 6: Pray for the families of Aspire students that are facing hard situations. Pray for housing for those experiencing homelessness. Pray for jobs for those seeking employment. Pray for peace for those experiencing loss. Most of all, pray for the Lord to use these things in their lives to call them to Himself.
Pray for the World
This week, we are praying for our Long-Termer, Kristi K. Kristi serves in North Africa at a language center. She runs the English program and works closely with the center’s local leadership.
Day 1: Kristi is in the USA for a short time this summer. Pray for a continued refreshing time in the States connecting with friends and family, and pray for a readiness to return to North Africa in June.
Day 2: Pray for her friend, Holly*. Kristi has had a lot of gospel conversations with her for a long time. She continues to express some interest and curiosity about Christianity but still holds fast to her beliefs. Please pray for the Lord to soften her heart and open her eyes, as only He can.
Day 3: Pray for the English students and the English program. Pray for wisdom in making decisions, for more students, and for relationships to be built.
Day 4: Pray for Kristi to know how to use her time well and to focus on being faithful one day at a time. Pray that she will not neglect to spend time with the Lord and be in the Word daily.
Day 5: Pray for the Lord to continue to work in Kristi’s heart and free her from her struggles with a fear of man. The Lord is using multiple circumstances to reveal these things graciously. Pray that she will continue to trust Him and grow in this area.
Day 6: Pray for the church plant she is a part of as they work through some difficult issues that impact relationships within the church and the team. Pray that she will love her brothers and sisters well through these challenges.
