Pray for the Church
Praise God for making us and knowing us. Thank Him for always being with us, no matter where we find ourselves or what trouble we may face. Pray for Him to search out and reveal any sin within us in order to bring us to repentance, forgive us, and make us clean. Ask Him to lead and guide us in the way we should go as we follow after Him.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the Community Care Development Network (CCDN). Brook Hills partners with this Christian ministry located in Center Point and composed of local leaders helping to develop and maintain community programs across Birmingham. It specializes in serving local families through the areas of family and life services, mentoring, food and clothing support, educational services, workforce development, and community outreach. We’re also praying this week for CrossPoint Church in Trussville and Pastor Ryan Whitley.
Day 1: Pray for the CCDN as it works with teens to address challenges such as peer pressure, peer conflict, life skills, and communication skills. Pray also as it works with adults to address life skills, parenting skills, education needs, and employment barriers. Pray specifically for the current and future students in the new Inspire Education Program. Pray they have success in completing the program and finding job, college, or trade school matches.
Day 2: Pray for the families and individuals served by CCDN. Pray for deep fellowship with Christ to transform their hearts and lives, and for their spiritual and physical needs during this time to be met.
Day 3: Pray for those serving with CCDN as tutors, prayer warriors, life services volunteers, and administrative volunteers as they use their gifts and skills to minister to families in need in our community.
Day 4: Pray for new partnerships that can provide avenues in workforce and job creation, educational resources, and re-entry resources.
Day 5: Pray for the financial provision for CCDN to sustain everyday operations and to provide food and emergency resources to families in need. Pray specifically for special donations to be made to provide for smoke detectors, exit signs, and GCF outlets to be hard-wired into their new building, as well as having a new, safe back deck installed.
Day 6: Pray for CCDN leadership team, staff, and volunteers as they make difficult decisions and adjustments to keep everyone safe during COVID-19. Pray for them to continue to be spirit-led in their pursuit of serving Christ and our city.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for David S. as we send him out as a Long-Termer to serve in Central Asia.
Day 1: Pray for God to keep David’s heart servant oriented in order to love his team well.
Day 2: Pray for God to go before David and prepare the hearts of those with whom David will share the gospel.
Day 3: Pray for God to grant David continued understanding and patience in learning language and culture.
Day 4: Pray for God to keep David’s heart ultimately reliant on Him and His Word.
Day 5: Pray for God to open up many opportunities for David to build friendships that are fruitful in the gospel.
Day 6: Pray for David to find deep community with the other believers he is serving alongside.
