Pray for the Church
Praise God for freedom from our sins which can only be found through faith in Christ. Thank God for the freedoms we experience in our nation. Pray for wisdom in how to best live as good neighbors in our country knowing our ultimate citizenship is in Heaven. Pray for the leaders in our city, state, and nation to trust Christ, grow in their knowledge of God and His Word, and devote their lives to obediently following after Him.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the ESL Rock the Block hosted here on our campus by our English as a Second Language Ministry from July 5-8. At this event, our ESL families will have the opportunity to learn more about Jesus through gospel-centered games, songs, Bible stories, and crafts. Over 20 international children have registered to attend. We’re also praying this week for Christ Church United Methodist and Pastor Paul Lawler.
Day 1: Pray for all of the ESL Rock the Block volunteers to possess Spirit-empowered patience, endurance, and joy in Christ, and for any barriers to the gospel to be removed.
Day 2: Pray for many international children to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus, and for the gospel to speed ahead, without hindrance, throughout their families and social networks.
Day 3: Pray for meaningful relationships to be established between volunteers and guests, providing continued opportunities for gospel conversations.
Day 4: Pray for any new families that are invited by our students, volunteers, or church members to be met with warm and friendly hospitality.
Day 5: Pray for the children attending, and their parents, to believe and retain the truths about God that are presented during ESL Rock the Block. Pray they will carefully and personally consider the life-changing message of the gospel.
Day 6: Pray that ESL Rock the Block would bring many families from all over the world into our ESL Ministry where they can be shown the love of Jesus.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Mid-Termer, Hannah S. as she serves in the Middle East. Hannah lives in a city where she is learning Arabic at a local school and engaging her community with the gospel. Please pray for Hannah this week.
Day 1: Hannah moved to her new city almost nine months ago. Transition is admittedly hard for Hannah. Please pray that God would give her energy, grace, and a good attitude throughout the struggles of transition. Pray for Hannah to wholly lean on the Father.
Day 2: Hannah has made new friends. Pray for God to soften their hearts and make them responsive to the good news they are hearing.
Day 3: Praise God there are a few local churches in town for Hannah to consider joining. Pray for wisdom in deciding which church she should join and how best to plug in and serve.
Day 4: Hannah’s country has experienced significant violence in the last few months. Pray for a pause in the escalation of violence in her country. Pray for governments to seek peace for the people of their land.
Day 5: Hannah’s parents were supposed to come and visit her this month and the government just announced that tourists will not be allowed in due to COVID-19. Pray for Hannah and her parents as they face this discouragement and delay in seeing one another.
Day 6: Pray for Romans 1:16 to be increasingly reflected in Hannah’s life each day.
