Pray for the Church
Praise God for sending His Son, Jesus Christ, with the power to forgive sins. Thank Him for loving us and wanting us to bring all of our cares and concerns to Him. Ask Him to grant us eyes to see when He is leading us toward repentance. Pray for Him to convict us of any sins in our lives and to forgive us of our sins.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Oak Tree Ministries, a nonprofit laboring alongside the people of the Marks Village Public Housing Community in fulfillment of God’s promise to raise up for Himself “oak trees of righteousness for the display of his splendor” (Isaiah 61:3). Oak Tree Ministries seeks to pave the way for people in Marks Village to be reconciled to God and to others. We’re also praying this week for Citizen’s Church in Irondale and Pastor Justin Karl.
Day 1: Pray for God to call Christ followers to explore how they can use their gifts to labor with Oak Tree Ministries, entering mutually transforming relationships that will lead to the flourishing of the Marks Village community.
Day 2: Pray for peace over the summer through an end to gun violence and retaliation, protection over families, healing for those exposed to trauma, and comfort for those grieving.
Day 3: Pray for elementary activities happening over the summer to provide safe space for connection, fun, and learning. Pray for Megan Smith to be full of joy, led and sustained by the Spirit as she leads our elementary children.
Day 4: Pray for teenage boys as they are in such a critical and vulnerable stage of life. Pray for protection and opportunity for them to grow into godly young men. Pray for Aaron Meeks to be full of joy, led and sustained by the Spirit as he leads our teen boys.
Day 5: Pray for teenage girls as they are in such a critical and vulnerable stage of life. Pray for protection and for opportunities for them to grow into godly young women. Pray for provision for a new teenage girl’s minister to join the Oak Tree team in the Lord’s timing.
Day 6: Pray for parents in Marks Village as they lead and provide for their families in an extremely difficult environment. Pray that men and women will join weekly Discovery Bible studies and be transformed by Jesus. Pray for Randle Wright and Karina Cortes as they support adults and explore ways that Oak Tree can grow in supporting the community and economic development.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Bella M. serving in Central Asia. Bella was sent out as a Mid-Termer last year to serve at a local prison for women. Her role is primarily to support a team serving women with children who are incarcerated in the local prison. Through their ministry they can share and show the gospel. Join us this week as we pray for Bella.
Day 1: Pray for God to give Bella the strength she needs to endure the challenges that are before her. Pray for Bella to abide in Christ and seek him daily.
Day 2: Pray for Bella to regard others as more significant than herself as she seeks to serve and share the gospel with those around her.
Day 3: Bella lives and works in a country that is currently facing significant instability and security concerns. Therefore, Bella and her fellow teammates are being moved to a new country. Pray for Bella as she says goodbye to the friends she has made.
Day 4: Pray that Bella would depend completely on the Spirit, knowing this is His work. Pray for the Lord to bring freedom in Christ to many of the women she has built relationships with. Pray for God to open the eyes of the women in the prison who have heard the gospel.
Day 5: Pray for Bella as she transitions into a new country. Pray that as she mourns the loss of her current situation, she would find joy in what God is providing. Pray for many opportunities to engage others with the good news of Christ.
Day 6: Pray for God to be glorified in and through Bella as she continues to serve.
