Praise God for all those in our family who have special needs and for the friends and families who love, care for, and support them. Ask God to raise up from among us more Buddies to serve with our special needs ministry. Pray for us all to grow in our love for one another, and to especially learn to care well for others in our faith family who may not be exactly like us.

This week we are praying for Metro Changers, a local faith-based organization that equips groups of volunteers to work together to provide renovation and home repair services at no cost to elderly or low-income homeowners. We are also praying this week for Shades Mountain Baptist Church and their new Pastor George Wright.

Day 1: Pray for more new volunteers to participate in work projects in Birmingham in 2021 and 2022. Pray that all volunteers would grow deeper in their personal walk with Christ through serving others.

Day 2: Pray for the homeowners and other members of the community who will interact with the work crews from Metro Changers over this next year. Pray that those who do not know Christ will seek to follow Him, and that those who do know the Lord will grow in their faith as they are encouraged by the volunteers.

Day 3: Pray for more homeowners to come to know about Metro Changers and the services they provide at no cost. Pray that they will complete the application and that Metro Changers can process it quickly and have volunteers available to serve.

Day 4: Pray for new partnerships to be established between Metro Changers and churches, ministries, and other nonprofits. Pray that together they can provide a holistic approach to meeting needs and sharing the gospel.

Day 5: Pray for all of the neighborhoods that Metro Changers has worked in and will work in during 2021. Pray for safety and security in those neighborhoods. Pray for the residents of those neighborhoods to be good neighbors by demonstrating the love of Christ to one another.

Day 6: Pray for the staff and leadership at Metro Changers as they seek God’s will in serving low-income families and the elderly in Birmingham through home repair. Pray for wisdom for both the new Executive Director, Jeremy Griem, and the Board of Directors as they seek to serve the city for the glory of Jesus Christ.

This week we are praying for Chris and Joanna R. as they serve as Long-Termers in Southeast Asia. Chris and Joanna were sent out from Brook Hills to serve on a team that is engaging a large population of people with little to no access to the gospel. Through humanitarian relief efforts they are able to support a group of local believers who are sharing the gospel and strengthening the local church there. COVID-19 has been particularly harsh in their city over the last year. Many have perished and the city is currently on lockdown once again as the virus is rapidly spreading. Join us this week as we pray for Chris and Joanna’s family.

Day 1: Unfortunately, the coronavirus spread through Chris and Joanna’s family a few weeks ago. Thankfully they have not had any serious problems and are beginning to recover. Pray for complete recovery and for strength as they care for one another.

Day 2: COVID-19 is ravaging Chris and Joanna’s country right now. Hospitals are overflowing and people are literally dying in the streets waiting to get into a hospital. Pray for their city as it is facing its worst days of this pandemic.
  
Day 3: Everyday, nearly a thousand people are dying of COVID-19 and entering eternity, many of whom have never heard of salvation through Jesus Christ. Pray that God would make a way for people to hear the good news of Christ.

Day 4: Chris and Joanna’s city is on a strict lockdown, with pretty much everything closed except for essential stores. Pray for their family as they are stuck at home and not able to meet with people and carry out their normal ministry routes.

Day 5: A good friend who Chris and Joanna have been sharing the gospel with for a few years put his faith in Jesus earlier this year and was recently baptized. Pray for this young man, as his family just found out he is a follower of Jesus and they are very upset. Pray that our brother will be steadfast and encouraged by the Holy Spirit and the brothers and sisters in Christ around him. 

Day 6: Pray for Chris and Joanna as they encourage the church and the group of national believers they work with. Pray that they will focus on the spread of the good news of Christ and not let fear of the unknown dictate their action. Pray that their lives would reflect Christ and all He means to them.
