Praise God for His constant, careful vigilance over our lives. Pray for us all to find refuge and rest in God despite what we face in life. Thank God for His active work in our world even when we don’t recognize it.

This week we are praying for the Brook Hills ESL Ministry (English as a Second Language). Over the past six years, the Brook Hills ESL Ministry has served over 300 international adults and their families from 36 different countries. This will be the first time back on campus for many of our ESL families since the pandemic began. For more information about our ESL Ministry, visit www.brookhills.org/esl.

DAY 1: Pray for the international adults who will participate in the ESL program this semester. Pray God will continue to bring students from nations with little to no access to the gospel. Pray also for God to give all of our students the patience, skills, and mental strength necessary to learn the English language, even during the pandemic.

DAY 2: Pray for the internationals who are hearing about Jesus for the first time. Pray many students will come to faith in Christ and those who are already Christ-followers will grow in their faith, find community in a local church, and make disciples.

DAY 3: Pray for the perseverance and faithfulness of our ESL volunteers in every area of the ESL ministry to cultivate a safe, welcoming, and loving environment for the students and their families; and for the opportunity to have gospel-centered conversations with students and their families.

DAY 4: Pray for the children who will participate in the weekly ESL Preschool & Children’s Program. Pray for their hearts and minds to learn new truths about God each week from their Bible-centered lessons and to retell these stories to their families.

DAY 5: Pray for the Women’s ESL Bible Study group that will meet Wednesday evenings this semester. Pray these women, from a variety of spiritual backgrounds, will understand the Word of God and be transformed by it. Pray also for leadership to start a Men’s ESL Bible Study group meeting on Wednesday evenings, and that we may see entire families connecting to our faith family through these Bible studies and age-group ministries.

DAY 6: Pray for Jess Roberts, our ESL Director, and for the other leaders in the ESL Ministry as they make decisions regarding the direction of our ESL Ministry this fall in order to best show and share the love of Christ with more internationals in our city.

This week we are praying for the Desert City Initiative that we launched in our Worship Gathering. A massive opportunity is before us as a church to engage one of the most strategic cities in the world. Over 192 nationalities from all over the globe live and work within the Desert City and Brook Hills has been given the opportunity to engage those who have little to no access to the gospel. DAY 1: Praise God for allowing Brook Hills the opportunity to engage in another strategic city in our world. Pray for God to be glorified as we engage with the resources we have here at Brook Hills.

DAY 2: There are over 192 nationalities that live and work in the Desert City. Most of these peoples are from places around the world where access to the gospel is limited. Pray for God to open many doors for relationships to be developed so the gospel can spread from this city to other nations.

DAY 3: Pray for the city team that is already in the Desert City and is intentionally engaging people in the workplace and in their community. Pray for God to bless their team and give them many opportunities to build relationships with their coworkers and those they do life with in the city.

DAY 4: There are many healthy international churches in the Desert City. This season of Covid has been difficult for their congregations as they are just returning to meet. Pray for God to give wisdom to the leaders of these churches as they make disciples and strengthen their faith family.

DAY 5: Pray for God to move in the hearts of members of Brook Hills to consider joining the work in the Desert City.

DAY 6: Pray for God to be glorified through our church as we seek to engage the unreached living in the Desert City. Pray for God to do a work that he and he alone can receive the Glory for.
