Praise God for the hope we can only find in Him. Pray for His strength to face any battle in life, and thank Him for fighting for us. Ask Him to help us all remember and live in light of all He has done for us.

This week we are praying for Birmingham Urban Young Life, a Christian ministry with a mission to introduce adolescents to Jesus and help them grow in their faith. Urban Young Life serves the students of Restoration Academy, Putnam Middle School, Banks Academy, and Woodlawn High School. We’re also praying this week for Zion Springs Baptist Church and Pastor Adam Mixon.

Day 1: Pray for every student within the influence of Urban Young Life to meet Christ and grow in a relationship with Him. Pray for boldness for our leaders in presenting the gospel, and for the Lord to soften the hearts of the students to receive it.

Day 2: Pray for the students involved with Urban Young Life to have a positive year. Pray for safety, health, and perseverance at their work. Pray for new and encouraging friendships to form.

Day 3: Pray for the families of the Urban Young Life students. Pray that they also would be touched by the love of Christ and that their lives would be transformed.

Day 4: Pray for the Urban Young Life leaders to be filled with the love of Jesus so they can continue pouring out into the lives of teens. Pray that they would be consistent in their service so that their relationships with the students can deepen. 

Day 5: Pray for new leaders in the Birmingham area to feel the call to mentor students in the urban community. Pray that people would feel the burden to mentor, pray, and love students in hard places.

Day 6: Pray for the gift of financial sustainability for Birmingham Urban Young Life. Pray for Executive Director, Sedrick Moore, and for the board of directors as they seek to steward well the resources provided for their work.

This week we are praying for our short-term team currently serving in the Middle East. This team is the first to go as part of the Desert City Initiative. They will primarily be engaging people from all over the world who are visiting the Desert City, as well as encouraging the team that lives and works there. Day 1: Praise God for the opportunity to send members of our faith family to engage the Desert City.

Day 2: Pray for God to provide many opportunities for our teams to meet people from all over the world who are searching for Christ and open to the gospel.   

Day 3: Pray for God to give our team boldness to share and clarity to proclaim the good news of what Christ has done.

Day 4: Pray for the team as they encourage our faith family members who are living and working in the Desert City. Pray for sweet times of fellowship and encouragement so they can endure and enjoy the work God has given them as long-term workers there.

Day 5: Pray for members of our short-term team to be exposed to the realities of the world and the need for more workers in the Desert City. Pray that some on the team might have their eyes opened to see opportunities where they could join in and invest more deeply as Mid-Termers or Long-Termers.

Day 6: Pray for God to be glorified through the team that is on the ground this week. Pray that He would be honored in the way they love one another and those they come in contact with. Pray that God would use their faithfulness to impact the lives of those they encounter.
