Pray for the Church
Praise God for His trustworthiness and that we can always rely upon Him. Pray for healthcare workers and others serving on the frontlines to treat and stop this virus. Ask God for His care and protection, especially for older adults and others who are at higher risk. Pray for parents who are both caring for and educating their children at home and for our educators who are working to equip them with needed resources. Ask God to comfort and provide for all those whose job has been impacted by this virus and the subsequent business closures.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Sav-A-Life Vestavia, a comprehensive pregnancy care ministry that is dedicated to offering free and confidential services in a loving environment to women, men, and families facing an unplanned pregnancy. Sav-A-Life Pregnancy Test Center offers hope by providing medical help and emotional support while sharing the love of Jesus Christ through word and deed. They are planning on staying open as long as possible during this COVID-19 crisis in order to provide medical services to pregnant women and diapers and supplies to families in need. We are also praying for Briarwood Presbyterian Church and Pastor Harry Reeder.
Day 1: Pray for good health for the medical staff, other key staff, and strategic volunteers so that they will be able to continue to serve women facing unwanted pregnancies during the current COVID-19 crisis. They expect to see more women than usual during this crisis time.
Day 2: Pray for opportunities for volunteers and staff to share the gospel with every client who enters their doors.
Day 3: Pray for Sav-A-Life’s two locations (Vestavia and North Birmingham) as they work together to consolidate best practices to better serve women with unwanted pregnancies in Birmingham and provide the best care possible.
Day 4: Pray for the abortion-minded women who come to Sav-A-Life to be pointed to Jesus and to life-affirming options for their baby. Pray they will choose life.
Day 5: Pray for the staff to have much wisdom on how best to provide services and use limited resources to serve women who have already chosen life for their babies, while also serving women who have unwanted pregnancies during our current crisis.
Day 6: Pray for God to provide the resources needed for this ministry to continue, especially in light of having to cancel their major annual fundraiser this past week. Pray for people to give generously through their online fundraising event and their website for the support of the ministry.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for all of our Brook Hills mid-termers and long-termers who are currently on the field in various contexts around the world. Our Global Team has been in constant contact with each of them and are keeping in close connection on a regular basis. Each of our mid-termers and long-termers is dealing with the realities this infection is causing worldwide. Each of them is confident in Christ as they navigate things. Join us as we pray for our people who have been sent out from our faith family to engage the nations with the gospel.
DAY 1: Pray for all of our mid and long-termers to have minds set on Christ. Pray for God to provide for their every need.
DAY 2: Pray for God to provide wisdom for each of our people as they make decisions to protect their families and be a light to those who do not have hope in Christ.
DAY 3: Pray for God to provide our people with health. Pray for protection against being exposed and contracting the virus.
DAY 4: Pray for God to give all of our people peace in this season of fear.
DAY 5: Pray for those who are currently moving to more stable areas of the world. Pray for traveling mercies and for peace as they say goodbye to teammates and friends.
DAY 6: Pray for our mid-termers and long-termers to see opportunities to share the hope of Christ with those who do know Him. Pray for God to draw many to Himself and for many to believe.
