Scripture Memory
Pray for the Church
Praise God for Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross, which made the way for us to be reconciled to Him. Confess and repent of your own sin in your life, and ask and thank God for His forgiveness. Praise Him for Jesus’ resurrection, which demonstrates His power over sin and death. Thank God for the faith He grants us through His grace so we might be saved.
Pray for the City
This week, we are praying for the Shelby Baptist Association (SBA) located in Columbiana. The mission of Shelby Baptist Association is Serving Christ Together as they seek to enable and assist its member churches to accomplish their mission, promote and help churches coordinate mission/ministry opportunities, and partner together to accomplish the Great Commission locally and globally. We are also praying for Dawson Family of Faith and Pastor David Eldridge.
Day 1: Pray that SBA churches would be salt and light in their neighborhoods by seeing and meeting needs within their communities and sharing the gospel together.
Day 2: Pray that the many Community Ministries that occur at the Shelby Baptist campus will be a successful outreach platform for evangelism and ministry into the community by local churches.
Day 3: Pray that churches in the SBA would boldly teach and preach the truth of the gospel.
Day 4: Pray that the Shelby Baptist Association would successfully promote unity and fellowship among area churches.
Day 5: Pray that the new SBA dental clinic and other innovative ministry tools will be used effectively by the area churches to evangelize and make disciples among the lost in our city.
Day 6: Pray for the Shelby Baptist Association staff as they aim to equip the saints in area churches for the work of ministry. Pray they will lead with integrity and model a life of dependence on the Lord.
Pray for the World
This month approximately 1.8 billion Muslims around the world are celebrating Ramadan. For this month Muslims all over the world will abstain from food, drink, and other pleasures during the day in order to try and remove their sin and draw closer to God. The Church at Brook Hills has strategically sent out workers and church planting teams to many Muslim people groups around the world for gospel engagement. Join us this week as we pray for Muslim men and women around the world. For more info on Ramadan, be sure to read our latest post on the Global Dispatch.
Day 1: Pray for God to soften the hearts of Muslim men and women to the gospel and for Christ to be revealed leading them in the way of truth (John 14:6).
Day 2: Pray for all of our Brook Hills members working with Muslim people to have boldness, courage, and passion as they proclaim the good news of Christ to their Muslim friends this month. Pray for many opportunities for our Sent Ones to be in homes with their Muslim friends. Pray that the gospel message of Jesus will penetrate their lives.
Day 3: Pray for God to teach us something new about his inexhaustible love for all of his children and stir our hearts to love our Muslim neighbors as ourselves.
Day 4: Pray for God to open creative opportunities for Brook Hills members to engage their Muslim neighbors in Birmingham during Ramadan. Pray for God to provide opportunities for genuine friendships and gospel conversations.
Day 5: Pray that God would reveal himself to many Muslims during Ramadan in dreams and visions.
Day 6: Ramadan allows for a heightened spiritual awareness for Muslims. Pray for God to save those who are seeking him. Pray for the message of salvation by grace and through faith in Christ alone to be proclaimed to Muslim men and women. Pray for God to receive praise that is due his name among all peoples.
