Pray for the Church
Praise God for how He guards, protects, leads, and guides us. Thank Him for the men and women who have selflessly served our nation as members of our armed forces. Pray for God’s comfort for our veterans, for them to know His peace.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the International Care Team, a ministry of Brook Hills. The mission and vision of the BH International Care Team is to meet immediate physical and civil needs of internationals in Birmingham so that we can have the opportunity to meet spiritual needs as well. We pray that as we provide food, furniture, friendship, transportation and more to vulnerable internationals around the city of Birmingham (many of whom are from least reached people groups) that the gospel is made known to them and that one day they will put their faith in Jesus Christ. We are also praying for Christ Church Birmingham and Pastor Matt O’Reilly.
DAY 1: Pray for the people God sends our way from unreached contexts. Ask Him to open their hearts to the life-changing truth of the gospel—a truth many of them have never heard.
DAY 2: Pray for the International Care Team to love internationals well and for internationals to be attracted to Christ through their love and hospitality.
DAY 3: Pray for Brook Hills members to engage with the International Care Team in whatever way makes the most sense for their lives and schedules, whether it be by offering their truck to move a bed for a family, being a friend to mother with young children, or occasionally driving someone to a doctor’s appointment or to pick up food.
DAY 4: Pray for gospel seeds to be sown as needs are met, friendships are built, and conversations are shared.
DAY 5: Pray for God to orchestrate clarity in conversations and help internationals understand the gospel even in places where the language barrier can make it more difficult.
DAY 6: Ask God to draw many people to Himself through the collective work of Brook Hills members through the International Care Team, and pray for many people from hard-to-reach places to know and follow Jesus as a result.
Pray for the World
This week, we are praying for some of our long term partners, Ron and Kara. They are studying language full time, with plans to share the gospel with the Khofa people in the Middle East.
DAY 1: Pray for Ron and; Kara to persevere in their language learning so they can proclaim the good news with boldness and clarity. Pray for relationships to continue to grow and for opportunities to share gospel truths while still learning cultural and religious beliefs from locals.
DAY 2: Pray for relationships with believers at their church to grow. Pray they would soak up as much knowledge as possible from their church, both of the Arabic language and of how to love locals who follow Jesus. Pray they will know Jesus more during this time.
DAY 3: Ron and Kara live in the general area of the current conflict in Palestine/Israel. While they do not live in that country, there are still tensions. Pray for the victims on both sides of the war – for them to see their need for Christ and turn to Him in this difficult time. Pray for Ron and Kara to have wisdom in conversations with locals about the conflict. Pray for an end to the war and for God to give wisdom to government authorities involved on both sides.
DAY 4: Pray for Ron and Kara’s visit to the capital of their target country. Pray Ron would make business connections to facilitate long-term access. Pray Kara would meet and show love to local women.
DAY 5: Pray for overall favor towards international businessmen in the region and for God to allow Ron and Kara and their teammates to be able to live among the Khofa people long-term. Ask God to work in the Khofa people’s hearts.
DAY 6: Pray for unity in their marriage. Pray for Ron and Kara to display Christ in their marriage and for them to be an example to those around them of how Christ loves His Church. Pray for unity in relationships with teammates.
