Pray for the Church
Praise God for all the many ways He is helping us go strong to our community with the message of His gospel. Pray for Him to further these efforts beyond our friends, neighbors, coworkers, and classmates to lead us all to consider how we can also be a part of making disciples of all nations. Pray for Him to prepare people we encounter to hear the gospel and to soften their hearts to believe.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Red Mountain Grace, a Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to providing gracious housing to out-of-town patients and caregivers during their extended medical stays in Birmingham. Red Mountain Grace was co-founded in 2013 by Brook Hills member, Jason Carroll. We are also praying for Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church and Pastor Brad Allison.
DAY 1: Pray for the twenty families that are currently being housed through Red Mountain Grace. Pray for Red Mountain Grace apartments to be places of warm hospitality and harbors of safety this holiday season.
DAY 2: Pray for the gospel to be known and for lives to be changed through the work and words of the staff and volunteers at Red Mountain Grace. Pray the guests would find comfort and peace through the Lord Jesus Christ as they walk through the valley of medical trials.
DAY 3: Pray for the social workers and medical professionals caring for the families and their loved ones currently residing with Red Mountain Grace. Pray for the Lord to give them wisdom for how best to care for their patients and loved ones.
DAY 4: Pray for relief from financial stress for the guests of Red Mountain Grace. Pray for insurance to cover procedures needed and that time away from work would not be a hinderance to receiving care.
DAY 5: Pray for God to strengthen and guide the staff and volunteers and equip them with what they need to serve the sick and their families well. Pray for God to continue to encourage those serving on the front lines of Red Mountain Grace so they can be an encouragement to others.
DAY 6: Praise God for those that support Red Mountain Grace, spiritually and financially. Pray for the Lord to continue to raise up new donors, board members, and volunteers to continue to love visitors coming to our city facing medical crises.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Josip and Kelly and their family, who are currently living and working in Croatia. They are laboring to see local believers discipled and the church strengthened.
DAY 1: Please pray for Josip and Kelly’s efforts in helping their local church; serving and building relationships with the faith, family, and newcomers.
DAY 2: We are thankful for Josip’s opportunities to teach on discipleship and to preach both in Croatia and in different countries. Pray for more opportunities and for wisdom as Josip prepares.
DAY 3: Pray for Kelly as she leads art workshops, meets with women, and hosts holiday parties in our apartment, as she continues to build relationships with women.
DAY 4: Pray for their ongoing efforts in evangelism and discipleship, for God to give them the opportunities, and the wisdom, and to touch the hearts and minds of people there with His Truth and Word.
DAY 5: Pray for Josip as he prepares to be on a panel and present a paper on discipleship for a conference in Zagreb, Croatia in April 2024.
DAY 6: Pray for Josip and Kelly as they parent their adult children and teenagers: for God’s wisdom, grace, and strength.
