Praise God for His mercy and grace. Ask Him to help grow us to be more merciful and gracious toward one another and those around us. Pray for us all to make the most of every opportunity God provides us to do good.

This week we are praying for Mission Increase, a Christian foundation that supports over 110 Christian nonprofits in Central Alabama by offering teaching, coaching, and consulting rooted in a biblical approach to fundraising – all at no cost to ministries. The purpose of their training is to strengthen Christian nonprofit ministries in order that more people will believe the Gospel and experience Kingdom living. We are also praying for Shades Mountain Community Church and Pastor Rick Goertzen.

DAY 1: Pray for ministry leaders throughout the Central Alabama region. Pray that God will strengthen and encourage them to fulfill their calling. Pray specifically for Christian nonprofit leaders you may know – that they would be filled and empowered with the Holy Spirit.

DAY 2: Pray for generosity in our region to increase. Pray that more givers would “do good, be rich in good works, be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.” (I Timothy 6:18,19)

DAY 3: Pray for collaboration and unity to be expressed among Christian nonprofits and churches. Ask God to help Christian nonprofit leaders to cooperate and collaborate in answer to Jesus prayer “that they would be perfected in unity.” (John 17:23). Ask God to bring unity and strategies as Mission Increase leads nine Affinity Groups (nonprofit leaders focused on the same cause who meet quarterly) and quarterly Cause Conversations (church, business, nonprofit and government leaders gathering to solve our community’s deepest problems with Kingdom solutions).

DAY 4: Pray for Mission Increase as they teach, coach and consult regarding a Biblical approach to fundraising and organizational development – all at no cost to the ministries they serve (thanks to the generosity of partners like Brook Hills!). Intercede for Kevin Moore, Area Director of Mission Increase Central Alabama as he impacts ministries in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and Montgomery.

DAY 5: Pray for nonprofit boards to engage and steward their God-given callings and gifts to lead. Ask God to raise up more board members who have gospel concern for our city.

DAY 6: Pray for nonprofit leaders to view fundraising as ministry. Pray that God will use Mission Increase to empower Christian ministry leaders to see their role in fundraising as a joyful calling, journeying with their donors on a mutually encouraging, discipleship pathway.

This week marks the beginning of the month of Ramadan, the holy month of prayer and fasting for Muslims around the world. Approximately 1.8 billion Muslims around the world are celebrating Ramadan. For this month, Muslims all over the world will abstain from food, drink, and other pleasures during the day in order to try and remove their sin and draw closer to God. The Church at Brook Hills has strategically sent out workers and church planting teams to many Muslim people groups around the world for gospel engagement. Join us this week as we pray for Muslim men and women around the world. 

DAY 1:  Pray for God to soften the hearts of Muslim men and women to the gospel and for Christ to be revealed, leading them in the way of truth (John 14:6).

DAY 2: Pray for all of our Brook Hills members working with Muslim people to have boldness, courage, and passion as they proclaim the good news of Christ to their Muslim friends this month. Pray for many opportunities for our Sent Ones to be in homes with their Muslim friends. Pray that the gospel message of Jesus will penetrate their lives.

DAY 3: Pray for God to teach us something new about his inexhaustible love for all of his children and to stir our hearts to love our Muslim neighbors as ourselves.

DAY 4: Pray for God to open creative opportunities for Brook Hills members to engage their Muslim neighbors in Birmingham during Ramadan. Pray for God to provide opportunities for genuine friendships and gospel conversations.

DAY 5:  Pray for God to reveal himself to many Muslims during Ramadan in dreams and visions. 

DAY 6: Ramadan allows for a heightened spiritual awareness for Muslims. Pray for God to save those who are seeking him. Pray for the message of salvation by grace and through faith in Christ alone to be proclaimed to Muslim men and women. Pray for God to receive praise that is due his name among all peoples.
