Praise God for His faithful provision in our lives. Ask Him to grow our trust in and reliance upon Him. Pray for Him to calm our hearts, remove our worries, and grant us peace. Pray for God to help us seek Him and His kingdom above all things and to keep our eyes fixed on Christ.

This week we are praying for Banks Academy (banksacademy.org), a private Christian middle and high school in the northeast side of Birmingham, whose mission is to train and educate students with excellence and provide them hope for a bright future. They are celebrating nine years of serving families in the Birmingham area. They currently are located in Huffman Baptist Church. Banks Academy was founded by Brook Hills member Darryl White along with Randy Overstreet, Ben Deloach, and Ginger Burkett. We are also praying for Huffman Baptist Church and Pastor Rob Paul.

DAY 1: Pray for Dr. Cathy Trimble, Banks Academy Principal and Cas McWaters the Executive Director. Pray for their wisdom in working with the teachers, staff, and students. Pray they will inspire and encourage the students to display a spirit of excellence in all aspects of their lives.

DAY 2: Pray for the Banks Academy teachers. Pray they will encourage and support each other throughout the day. Pray they will have ears of discernment to hear the spiritual need of each student.

DAY 3: Pray for the Bank’s Academy students. Pray the life changing message of the gospel would be received and lived out in the student’s lives. Pray for a hedge of protection around the school to keep the shootings and other ungodly influences away from students, staff, and families.

DAY 4: Pray for the Bank’s Academy board members. Pray they would be clearly led in all decision-making by the Lord, including where to add services and facilities to enhance the education and school experience.

DAY 5: Pray for the Lord to be gracious to Bank’s Academy in their financial needs. Pray the entire $1,800,000 budget for the 2023-24 school year will be met by the Lord through the generosity of His people. Pray donors would visit the school and see the positive impact of Banks Academy on the lives of the students.

DAY 6: Pray that Satan will not be effective in his desire to kill, steal, and destroy the ministry and families of Banks Academy. Pray for the love of Christ to be evident in the daily activities at the school and for the hallways and classes to be a positive and safe place for all the students.

This week we are praying for Philip and Joanna Z. who are serving long-term in Cambodia.

DAY 1: Pray for Philip and Joanna as they seek to strengthen and establish relationships with unbelievers in their community.

DAY 2: Pray for the Lord to provide opportunities for Philip to connect with men in the community and for them to be open to friendship and spiritual conversations.

DAY 3: Ask the Lord to continue to work in the heart of a Buddhist woman who has been attending Philip and Joanna’s church. Pray for the Lord to open her eyes to the truth and for her to turn from Buddhism and trust Jesus for her salvation.

DAY 4: Pray for their oldest daughter as she begins school full time, that she would transition well and that it would not be overwhelming for her. 

DAY 5: Pray for Philip and Joanna as they anticipate a BH Team in November. Ask the Lord to provide wisdom and guidance as they prepare and plan for the team.

DAY 6: Pray the Lord would lead others to join the short term team committed to serve a week in Cambodia with Philip & Joanna. Pray the trip would fill up and for God to use the team to encourage and strengthen the work there.
