Pray for the Church
Praise God for saving us by grace through faith and for also sustaining our faith and granting confidence in our salvation. Pray for us all to remain committed to the truth of God’s Word and to grow in knowledge of His truth. Pray for protection from the schemes of the enemy. Ask God to calm our hearts and ease our doubts as we continually experience His faithfulness.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for our three primary City Ministries initiatives. Join us in praying for ESL ministry, foster care ministry, and Love Oliver and the connected partner ministries. Each initiative focuses on different peoples and areas in our city. Their foundation and fuel is for us to live out the Great Commandment as we fulfill the Great Commission. We are also praying for Redeemer Community Church and Pastor Joel Brooks.
DAY 1: Pray for our ESL ministry as we begin registration and classes in September. Ask God to draw many people groups to Himself through ESL, and pray students would be receptive to the Word. Pray the students would learn English and through it learn the good news of the gospel.
DAY 2: Pray for the teachers and volunteers of ESL who walk with the students each week. Pray they would be a light to the students, have favor with the students, and be bold to share the gospel with humility and love with those who do not know Jesus.
DAY 3: Pray for the Foster Care Ministry. Pray for the foster parents in Brook Hills who have opened their homes to children in hard places. Pray they would love each child well that comes through their door. Pray for the gospel to be displayed and proclaimed to each foster child. Ask God to draw these foster children to Himself.
DAY 4: Pray we would love and support our foster families as the church. Ask God to raise up more individuals and families at Brook Hills to get involved in foster care and to be care team members supporting foster parents.
DAY 5: Pray for the people living in the Oliver Elementary zone. Pray for the believers to be encouraged, strengthened, and emboldened to share with others. Pray for those who do not know God to repent and believe. Pray this community would be marked by faith, hope, and love.
DAY 6: Pray for the ministry partners in Gate City as they seek to encourage and support their friends and neighbors and live out the gospel well. Pray for the leadership teams of each ministry partner in Gate City. Pray they would be marked by unity, faithfulness, wisdom, and humility.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Patrick and Vivian who are serving long term in Southeast Asia.
Day 1: Pray for Patrick and Vivian and ask the Lord to bless and provide for their family as they begin a new season of school and business in a very large and international city.
Day 2: Pray for the Lord to give Patrick great wisdom and discernment as he continues to grow their business and expand in a nearby country. Pray for Him to open doors for growth and provide Patrick success in both locations.
Day 3: Ask the Lord to provide opportunities for Patrick to share the Good News through the business, and that he will establish relationships with unbelievers and be bold in sharing the gospel.
Day 4: Pray for opportunities for Patrick and Vivian as they seek to use their home wisely to welcome believers and nonbelievers with gospel hospitality.
Day 5: Pray for their international church where Patrick is an elder. Ask the Lord to continue to bless and grow their faith family. Pray for church members to be faithful, to grow in Christ, and to be bold to share and make disciples throughout the city.
Day 6: Ask the Lord to enable Patrick and Vivian to remain faithful in spiritual disciplines. Pray they will prioritize time in the Word, in Scripture memory, and in prayer. Pray for the Lord to protect their marriage and for the Holy Spirit to guide them in shepherding and parenting their two girls.
