Pray for the Church
Praise God for His great love He lavishes upon us, and ask Him to develop within us an even greater love for one another. Ask Him to help us all be alert to threats and temptations but to respond to any trouble in life with faith and confidence in His sovereignty. Pray for God to help us all see ways we can serve one another in our church to use our gifts to build each other up and help one another grow in Jesus.
Pray for the City
Hope (www.bundlesdiaperbank.com), a Christ-centered non-profit that cares for the community by meeting the basic, essential, monthly needs of diapers for Alabama families. Diapers are expensive and not covered by any government program and currently one in two Alabama families struggle to afford diapers for their child. Bundles of Hope Diaper Bank desires to help all families experiencing “diaper need” through church partnerships and Christian non-profits so that families will know Jesus’ love and care for them. To date, Bundles has distributed over 5 million diapers serving 100,000 Alabama babies. We are also praying for Hope Community Church and Pastor Jacob Simmons.
DAY 1: Pray for the clients being served through Bundles of Hope. Pray for God’s presence and blessing to be on their households and for them to experience the love of Christ. Pray for gospel conversations for each church and Christian ministry partner as they care for the most vulnerable in tangible ways.
DAY 2: Bundles of Hope has been given a wonderful opportunity to buy a 22,000 sq/ft facility. Please pray for guidance and wisdom as they navigate this next step of growth. Pray for the volunteers that serve throughout the week at Bundles of Hope. Pray that they would find great joy in the work they are doing caring for families.
DAY 3: Pray for the 70+ church and community partners that act as the hands and feet of Christ through diaper collection and distributions. Pray that the Lord would bless their desire to see people come to know Christ through the love and care they show daily.
DAY 4: Pray for the amazing donors and supporters of Bundles of Hope. Pray that they would be blessed for their generosity. Pray for new supporters to join the cause and give generously to the ministry of Bundles of Hope.
DAY 5: Pray for new staff transitions this year. Pray that God would bring the right people to Bundles and for them to be placed in the right roles. Pray that they and their families would be protected from the enemy and would be a continued blessing to our city.
DAY 6: Pray for the annual Stuff the Bus Diaper Drive happening this week. Please pray for this event to shine light on the valuable work we do, for softened hearts, for hands and feet, and for God’s love to be seen and experienced!
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for the people of Egypt and our teams working there to spread the gospel in a majority Arab nation. Egypt has the fastest-growing population in the Middle East. 87 percent of Egyptians are Sunni Muslims and 13 percent are professing Christians. Overt Christian activity is strongly discouraged and results in persecution. Gospel-centered, biblically based churches are a great need in Egypt.
DAY 1: Egyptian society remains a difficult place to follow Jesus. Christians who are outspoken about their faith are often expelled from their families, divorced by their Muslim spouses, lose their children and their jobs. The government rarely provides protection or assistance. Pray FOR the Lord to continue to draw people to Himself and for the Church tol grow in spite of persecution.
DAY 2: Ask the Lord to give our teams and others working to spread the gospel great wisdom and discernment as they engage Coptic Christians with the true gospel. Coptic Christians have a very similar theology to Catholicism, salvation by works. Another obstacle to the gospel is the deep hurt and bitterness they feel toward Arab Muslims.
DAY 3: Pray the Spirit would fill Egyptian believers and our teams with a supernatural love for their Muslim friends and for fruitful opportunities to share their faith with them.
DAY 4: Pray for God to raise up believers to live and work alongside Muslims, and for their daily lives to reflect God’s alluring grace. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
DAY 5: Pray for the Holy Spirit to expose Muslims to the Word and give understanding to those who read it. Ask the Lord to help them believe it and turn from Islam to the One True God. Pray for those that convert to Christianity to boldly share the freedom they found in Christ with those around them.
DAY 6: Ask the Lord to draw together converted Coptic Christians and Muslims into a biblically unified relationship with one another as the body of Christ. Ask the Spirit to work in them to demonstrate the love of Christ toward one another to a watching world.
