Praise God for the community of believers we have here in The Church at Brook Hills. Ask God to grow our love and concern for one another. Pray for God to help us develop deep friendships with others in our faith family and to use us to encourage and spur one another on to love and good works.

This week we are praying for Discovery Clubs of Alabama, a ministry of the Jimmie Hale Mission. Discovery Clubs are weekly after-school Bible clubs that meet in 30 public elementary schools across the greater Birmingham area, offering fun and inspirational activities to help children know the love of Christ. Discovery Clubs teach the gospel to children while also building Biblical foundations for life, developing character, and changing families. We are also praying for Antioch Community Church--UAB Campus and Pastor Kevin Naylor.

Day 1: Praise God for the unique opportunity that Discovery Clubs has to present the gospel in age appropriate ways within the walls of public elementary schools, giving many children the opportunity to know Jesus Christ.

Day 2: Pray for God to continue to use Discovery Clubs to change the lives of children and their families through the gospel.

Day 3: Pray for the Lord of the harvest to equip and send more volunteers to serve as Discovery Club mentors in Birmingham area schools, especially at Oliver Elementary School.

Day 4: Pray for every Discovery Club mentor’s greatest aim to be to know Christ deeply and make Him known.

Day 5: Pray for many new students to join the Discovery Clubs program this year.

Day 6: Pray for the children who have come to know Christ through Discovery Clubs. Pray for them to be discipled and folded into the body of Christ. 
 

This week we are praying for JT and Sheryl Turner at One Way Ministries. One Way Ministries is one of our strategic partners for strengthening the church. Student short-term teams from Brook Hills serve in Guatemala and encourage local believers there as they go out and share the gospel. Day 1: Praise God for the short-term teams that served with One Way this summer. Many gospel conversations were turned into eternal impact as many confessed Christ and believed in Him. Praise God for those who have believed and for the believers who were bold to share the gospel.

Day 2: Pray for JT and Sheryl as they lead One Way Ministries into the new year. Pray for clear vision and strong partnerships that glorify God and make His name known in the areas where they are serving.

Day 3: Pray for the gospel to be at the forefront of everything they do at One Way Ministries.

Day 4: Pray for JT and Sheryl’s family as they grieve the loss of Sheryl’s father. Pray for their confidence to remain in the steadfast knowledge that God is good and they can trust in Him for everything they need.

Day 5: Pray for the churches in Guatemala and Peru with whom One Way partners. Pray for God to strengthen the believers in these areas and for the gospel to spread through their faithfulness in their communities. Pray for One Way to infuse the long-term disciple-making work of their church and for many to know Christ as a result of their partnership.

Day 6: Pray for God to strengthen the Turner family as they serve together and serve the local church for the glory of God.
