Pray for the Church
Praise God for His good design of males and females. Ask Him to grow our understanding of the unique complimentary differences we have from one another. Pray we will all see our need for each other. Pray for God to unite us together to accomplish the mission He has designed to be fulfilled by both His male and female image-bearers.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Living 180 Ministries, a ministry founded by Brook Hills members Paul and Suzi Talley. Living 180 works to bring healing, restoration, and healthy communication to Christian couples in crisis through couple-to-couple counseling, a community of encouragers, and workshops for wives, husbands, and couples. Living 180 was formerly known as Christian Marriages in Crisis. We’re also praying this week for Mountain Brook Community Church and Pastor Tim Kallum.
Day 1: Pray for Christian marriages in our local church, our city, and our world. Pray for husbands and wives to live according to God’s plan and purpose, and that together they would display the glorious relationship between Christ and His Bride—the Church.
Day 2: Pray for Living 180’s new Virtual Marriage Boot Camp to be impactful and life changing for the couples that attend. Pray for this unique program to be fruitful during this time of viruses and uncertainty.
Day 3: Pray for all of the couples touched by the ministry of Living 180. As COVID-19 has caused more issues to come to light in many marriages, pray for couples under stress to seek help.
Day 4: Pray for the Board of Living 180 Ministries. Pray they would be wise and Spirit-led in giving direction in these unprecedented times. Pray for the Lord to strengthen and protect the board members’ marriages and families.
Day 5: Pray for financial security for Living 180 Ministries. Pray for, in spite of the economic downturn caused by COVID-19, God’s people to continue to give bountifully to help protect and support marriages.
Day 6: Pray for Paul and Suzi Talley as they minister to couples in crisis and for God to give them wisdom as well as protect and strengthen their own marriage. Pray for Paul and Suzi as they adjust to no longer being caregivers for Paul’s mom who has just moved into a memory care facility. Pray for Paul and Suzi as they work to purchase Paul’s mother’s home.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Long-Termer KB serving among Central Asian peoples. KB is part of a broader Brook Hills team engaging a least reached Central Asian people group living in the Middle East. Their desire is to see the Father move to open hearts to the gospel, that many will come to faith in Christ, and that a healthy multiplying church will be established among them. The Lord has done great things, even in this season of Covid. While KB has been limited in seeing friends and acquaintances, God has not been limited and has been drawing people to Himself. Join us as we pray for KB and her teammates as they engage the lost with the gospel.
Day 1: Though this season with Covid-19 has been challenging in many ways and often times very hard to deal with, God has strengthened the community of believers KB is part of. Praise God for deepening these relationships and for opportunities to encourage one another as they navigate the unknown together.
Day 2: One of the most exciting things is that during this time, God has saved three new brothers and one new sister in Christ. In the most unlikely of times to us, God is building His church. Praise God for saving these brothers and sisters and give Him glory for what He has done.
Day 3: Pray for these new brothers and sisters in Christ. Each one comes from families which would not approve their decisions to follow Jesus. A few of them have begun to boldly share with their family members. Pray for them as they study the Word and learn more about the Father. Pray for other family members to come to faith in Christ.
Day 4: Pray for KB as she continues to learn language. Pray for continued access to language teachers and people in her community to practice her language.
Day 5: Pray for God to provide more opportunities for KB and her teammate to interact with women in their community. Pray for fruitful friendships that lead to gospel conversations.
Day 6: Pray for KB to contin ue to abide in God’s Word and remain faithful to the things He has given her to steward. Pray for God to encourage her through the body of believers she is connected with and to provide for her every need so she might bring Him glory among those she is sharing the gospel with.
