Pray for the Church
Praise God for the gift of a new year. Ask Him to help us all grow in our commitment to and knowledge of His Word in 2020. Pray we will make much of Christ this year and be known for our love for Jesus and one another and our bold proclamation of His gospel here in our city and around the world.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Brook Hills’ students of all ages who are returning to school after the holidays. We also want to pray for their parents, teachers, administrators, mentors, and spiritual leaders as they seek to equip them to reach their full potential and enjoy God’s good design for their life in 2020. We are also praying for Christ Fellowship Church and Pastor Bart Box.
Day 1: Pray for our students to know, grow, and trust in Christ throughout the rest of this school year. Pray for them to know Christ more deeply, one day at a time.
Day 2: Pray for our students to take advantage of opportunities to influence their friends, classmates, and school staff to know and grow in Christ. Pray they would be bold in displaying and declaring the gospel to others.
Day 3: Pray for teachers, home school parents, and administrators to have wisdom, skill, sensitivity, patience, and endurance as they help students learn and grow.
Day 4: Pray for our students to grow in knowledge, maturity, and ability as they prepare themselves to achieve God’s purposes for their lives.
Day 5: Pray for the right amount of rest for students and staff. Pray for students and staff to grow in self-discipline.
Day 6: Pray for parents as they guide, encourage, and support their students this year. Pray they would be able to guide them towards strong faith in Christ.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for God to mobilize Brook Hills to reach globally in 2020. Making disciples of all nations is the mission of our faith family here and we praise God for all the opportunities He has provided for our Church to engage the nations. After every service on Sunday we recite the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and as a faith family we want to be obedient to God. This week we ask you to pray and ask the question, “How will I serve among the nations in 2020”? Pray for God to show you where He wants to use you specifically and for Him to give you a spirit to GO and make His name known to the nations. For more information about how to get involved visit brookhills.org/missions.
Day 1: Praise God for the opportunities He has given Brook Hills to reach globally and declare His glory among the nations. Pray for God to continue to give us these opportunities and for us to be obedient.
Day 2: Pray for God to continue to use our church planting teams to establish His church among hard to reach people groups that do not have access to the gospel.
Day 3: Pray for our long-term missionaries and for God to strengthen, sustain, and use them and their families for His glory. Pray for God to call others to go and serve long-term as well.
Day 4: We are approaching a season where we send out many for short-term mission trips. Pray for those going on these trips to use the time they have in these places to make His name known and for people to be saved.
Day 5: Each year we send out mid-term missionaries to serve anywhere from 2 months to 2 years. Pray for God to continue to call out more college students, singles, and families to serve in this capacity so that we can continue to strengthen the long-term disciple-making work we are apart of.
Day 6: Pray for our Global Team as they lead and serve the Brook Hills faith family to make disciples of all nations.
