Pray for the Church
Praise God for bringing us together and uniting us as a faith family. Pray for Him to grow us in our unity and diversity to better reflect our neighborhood, city, and world. Ask Him to guide us all in discovering how to use the gifts He’s given us to build up His church and kingdom. Pray for God to use us all to help one another grow in Jesus together.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for racial reconciliation and unity in the Body of Christ, in our city, and in our nation. We are particularly praying that we, as followers of Jesus, will be useful instruments in the Redeemer’s Hand pursuing unity in His Body and in our city as He reconciles all things in Christ (Colossians 1:19-20; Ephesians 2: 14-16). We are also praying for New Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church and Pastor Thomas Beavers.
DAY 1: Pray for all believers across Birmingham to pursue unity with believers of other ethnicities, showing love, grace, forgiveness, compassion, and humility in a way that displays Christ’s character to our city.
DAY 2: Pray for our faith family and other Christ-followers to seek out strength and opportunities to show the love of Christ across all ethnic, racial, socio-economic, and man-made barriers in our city.
DAY 3: Pray for God to make us aware of any of our own sin, prejudices, ignorance, ethno-centric attitudes, or apathy toward justice and reconciliation issues that are keeping us from displaying the power of the gospel.
DAY 4: Pray for our posture as Christ-followers to be one of humility toward one another embracing a position of listening, learning, lamenting, and loving one another.
DAY 5: Pray for our governmental leaders in local, state, and national positions to have supernatural wisdom, humility, courage, understanding, and compassion to lead our city, state, and nation toward greater unity and justice during these days of turmoil.
DAY 6: Pray for the Church to be the leaders in our community by pursuing and displaying steps toward reconciliation, healing, unity, justice, and love in our city for the glory of Christ through His Church.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our world.
DAY 1: Pray Psalm 147:3. Praise God for being the only one who can heal our broken hearts and bind up our wounds. Pray for God to heal the wounds of our sin and transgression in our world.
DAY 2: Praise God for His Word and its transforming power. Pray for God to give us a right view of His Word. Pray for God to show the power of His word in our lives, in our families, in our church, in our city, and among the nations.
DAY 3: The only way to true justice and peace is through Jesus Christ. Pray for God to awaken our world to Christ who is the only one who can bring us from death to life and transform the hearts of man. Pray for God to put our flesh to death and to lead us to true peace.
DAY 4: Confess there is no one we can look to but God. Pray for God to lead us to repentance and revival. Pray for God to help us as we seek His face and turn from our sin. Pray for God to heal our land.
DAY 5: Pray for God to lead us in the path of righteousness today. Pray for the gospel to go forward in our world into all communities and among all nations.
DAY 6: Praise God that the gospel reconciles us to God and to one another. Praise God for the grace that gives us peace with God and peace with others. Pray for God to use the church to display unity that comes only through Christ Jesus.
