Pray for the Church
Praise God for His faithfulness to us and provision in our lives. Thank Him for the salvation we find by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Ask Him to grow our gratitude and contentment during this holiday season. Pray for us all to demonstrate our generosity for the glory of God throughout this season of giving. Thank God for our church, for one another, and ask Him to use us to share His gospel and bring others to her in our city and around the world to faith in Him.
Pray for the City
This week, we are praying for Jimmie Hale Mission (JHM), a Christian ministry that includes the Shepura Men’s Center (homeless shelter for men), Jessie’s Place (a shelter for women and children), Discovery Clubs (after-school Bible clubs), Royal Pines (a recovery center for men), recovery programs, learning centers, and thrift stores. The purpose of Jimmie Hale Mission is to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of men, women, and children in our community through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are also praying for Grace Fellowship Church, Homewood and their Pastor Joel Busby.
Day 1: Pray for Michael Coleman, the new Executive Director for JHM, as he leads the ministry. Pray for Michael and the staff to always be in the center of God’s will, and for the staff and volunteers to be submissive to God’s leading.
Day 2: Pray for the Board of Directors to be committed to Christ and to live their lives and lead the ministry with integrity.
Day 3: Pray for the staff to be filled with mercy and compassion for those they are serving and to not grow weary in well doing. Pray also for them to have godly wisdom and discernment as they seek to help men and women embrace and enjoy God’s good design for their lives.
Day 4: Pray for Jimmie Hale Mission’s priority to always be to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of the poor and
hurting in Jesus’ name. Pray for volunteers to come alongside the staff in agreement with the Mission’s purpose who will complement their efforts.
Day 5: Pray for donors to be obedient to God in their giving, and in return to be blessed by their faithfulness.
Day 6: Pray for every client to see and know the love of Christ through the staff and volunteers and to be open to God’s
working in their lives.
Pray for the World
Next week begins our month-long celebration of all God has accomplished through the Global Offering. The Global Offering is our commitment as a local body of believers to sacrificially give above and beyond our regular giving so we can send, support, and open new pathways of opportunities to spread the gospel and make disciples of all nations. The Global Offering helps send our members short, mid, and long-term. It also helps support ministry projects through field partners, and it ultimately allows us to participate in the vision God has given our faith family to see churches strengthened and established with the gospel around the world among the least reached. Join us this week as we give thanks to God for what He has accomplished with the Global Offering this year and pray He will bless the Global Offering for 2020.
Day 1: Thank God for the way He has used our faith family this year to participate in the advancement of the gospel to all nations. Thank Him for blessing us to be a blessing to those who have never heard of Christ.
Day 2: This year the Global Offering was used to send our faith family on over 30 short-term trips. Praise God for mobilizing so many of our members to be on mission. Praise God for the many opportunities to share the gospel on these trips. Praise God for saving many who heard of Christ.
Day 3: There are still billions of people in the world that have little to no access to the gospel. Pray for us to be a people who joyfully respond in obedience to pray for the nations, who share the gospel with those around us, and who sacrifice so we can engage those without access.
Day 4: This year the Global Offering was used to send and support 23 long-term missionaries who are currently on the field. Pray for our missionaries as they work in difficult places. Pray for God to call more members from our faith family to go.
Day 5: Ask the Father to show you how you can sacrificially participate in the Global Offering this year. Consider how you can use your resources to participate in the advancement of God’s Kingdom in this way.
Day 6: Ask the Lord to bless the Global Offering. Pray for our faith family to give with glad hearts and for the Lord to be pleased as we glorify and honor Him through our giving.
