Pray for the Church
Praise God for His grace and mercy He so generously demonstrates toward us. Ask God to help guard our minds. Pray we will all seek God and truth from His Word above all other influences. Ask God to reveal sin in our lives from which we need to repent. Pray for the Holy Spirit to continue to renew our minds and to sanctify us more and more into the image of Christ.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for King’s Home, a Christian ministry in Shelby County that provides shelter and counseling for scores of youth, women, and children seeking refuge, hope, and help from abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness, and other difficult and impoverished conditions and circumstances. We’re also praying for Meadowbrook Baptist Church and Pastor Chris Jones.
Day 1: Pray for the King’s Home youth, mothers, and children who do not yet know Jesus as their Savior to be drawn to Him during this time. Pray for those who are believers to find their security and rest in Him as they grow in Christ and overcome past trauma.
Day 2: Pray for the mental wellbeing of the residents during this pandemic, which was already compromised due to past abuse. Pray against the strongholds of fear, hopelessness, anxiety, and depression during these days of uncertainty and quarantine.
Day 3: Pray for financial provision since much of the revenue that would have normally come from the spring and summer fundraisers has been lost due to the pandemic. Pray for King’s Home to be able to continue providing basic services for each youth, woman, and child they serve.
Day 4: Pray for King’s Home as they aim to serve new residents without compromising the safety of current residents and employees. Pray they would be able to adapt to new protocols and would have access to enough cleaning supplies, disinfectants, and hand soap.
Day 5: Pray for the Prodigal Pottery Program that equips and employs women at King’s Home. Because of a devastating drop in funding, all employees were furloughed from March 19- May 1, causing a huge loss of momentum, production, sales, and morale.
Day 6: During March and April, King’s Home closed their thrift stores and laid off all but two employees due to the pandemic. These stores have now been able to re-open and employees are back to work. Pray they can make up for lost revenue this summer.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Lee and Lara serving Long-Term in Southeast Asia. Lee and Lara are part of a broader team engaging the diverse city of least reached people groups that they live in. Join us as we pray for their family as they navigate ministry in this unique season and engage the least reached with the gospel.
Day 1: Lee and Lara have been sheltering at home with their family during the last few months as their country has been closed down with a stay order. This has not been easy for them, but praise God he has provided for their needs. Pray for their family as they navigate limited movement in their city.
Day 2: Praise God for providing an extension on a visa they needed to remain in their city during the shutdown. Pray for God to provide a permanent visa option in the coming weeks and for the details of this to get completed.
Day 3: Lara has been leading efforts for a food distribution for the poor and most vulnerable to food insecurity in their city. Praise God for opening up a door of opportunity into the homes of the least reached. Many gospel conversations are taking place. Pray for God to move among those who are being served and for many to want to know more about Christ.
Day 4: Lee is in the middle of setting up a business that gives them sustainable access and a great opportunity to serve the community. There are many details that need to be taken care of. Pray for God to give Lee wisdom and perseverance as he pursues these endeavors and for favor with government officials in the process.
Day 5: Pray for Lee and Lara’s friends and neighbors who are hearing about Christ. Pray for God to open their hearts to see their need for a Savior. Pray for these friends to desire to know Christ and for Christ to save them.
Day 6: Pray for God to be honored as Lee and Lara serve in Southeast Asia. Pray for open doors into the communities which desperately need to hear of Christ. Pray for the kingdom to shine in the dark places of their city and for many to believe.
