Praise God for calling us out as His people and for bringing us together as a faith family here at Brook Hills. Ask God to grant us a passion for His Word and to grow our love for and understanding of the Scriptures. Ask Him to help us pass on what we know about Him and His Word to others. Thank God for the hope we have that is only found in Him.

This week we are interceding on behalf of human trafficking victims in Birmingham. With an estimated 36 million people enslaved worldwide in various forms of sexual and labor exploitation, slavery is more prevalent today than at any other point in history. Research over the past few years has shown that Birmingham is no exception to this problem. Join us in asking God to put an end to the terrible injustice that is plaguing our world on a local, national, and global level. We are also praying for Christ Church, UMC and Pastor Paul Lawler.

DAY 1: Pray for God to protect, rescue, and restore human trafficking victims in our own city who have been unable to escape their circumstances. Ask for God to send His Holy Spirit to comfort the afflicted and be a very present help for them in times of trouble. 

DAY 2: Pray for God to bring awareness to the Body of Christ concerning modern-day slavery and an awakening in the community, nation, and world to the personal and societal destruction caused by forced labor and prostitution. 

DAY 3: Pray for the Church to be compelled by the biblical mandate in Scripture to seek justice for the oppressed. Ask God to inspire and equip local government authorities to combat slavery in all its forms. 

DAY 4: Sex trafficking and pornography are closely linked. Pray for sexual purity within the Church. Pray for individuals struggling with sexual sin and ministries like Awaken that are helping adults find freedom in Christ.

DAY 5: Ask Jesus for an awakening among the worst offenders of human trafficking. Pray for them to repent of their sin, turn to Jesus, and become forces for freedom. 

DAY 6: Pray for our Local Missions partner, The WellHouse, and other organizations in Birmingham and around the world that God has called to serve victims of human trafficking. Pray for God to grant them favor, resources, and influence in their communities, as well as success in their mission.

This week we are praying for Long-Term Missionary Kristina J. serving in India. Kristina serves as the Director of the Bright Star School. Kristina has served as Director for the past few years and has helped to develop a successful education system for underprivileged children living in the surrounding communities. Kristina also serves at Houses of Hope, a home for children affected by HIV/AIDS. The Church at Brook Hills had the privilege of sending Kristina out from our faith family and currently has mid-termers serving with Kristina this year. DAY 1: Praise God for the ministry He has given Kristina, her husband, Parag, and their son. Pray for God to strengthen their young family as they love one another, serve one another, and make the gospel known in India. 

DAY 2: Most of the children attending Bright Star School live in poverty. This presents many challenges. Pray for God to get rid of distractions and to instill a desire to learn in the children at Bright Star School.

DAY 3: Pray for God to give wisdom to Kristina as she serves and leads the teachers and staff at Bright Star School. Pray for Kristina to find rest in God’s provisions.

DAY 4: Many of the children who live at Houses of Hope have become followers of Christ and are growing in their faith. Pray for God to continue to mold their hearts to follow Him and to grow in obedience to His Word.

DAY 5: Pray for the staff at Houses of Hope who are on the frontlines every day dealing with sick children, homework, chores, teenage attitudes, and all that comes with a house of 18 kids. Pray for God to make them steadfast and for their faith to grow as they nurture the children.

DAY 6: Pray for God to raise up a generation of students from Bright Star School and Houses of Hope who know Him and worship Him. Pray for each family that is represented in these children. Ask God to make Himself known to each family.
