Pray for the Church
Praise God the Father for sending His Son, Jesus Christ and for displaying His glory through Him. Ask Him to give us all eyes to see to behold His glory this holiday season in fresh ways. Pray He will use us to help others behold and respond to His glory this Christmas.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Red Mountain Grace, a Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to providing gracious housing to out-of-town patients and caregivers during their extended medical stays in Birmingham. Red Mountain Grace was co-founded in 2013 by Brook Hills member, Jason Carroll. We are also praying for Gardendale First Baptist Church and Pastor Kevin Hamm. DAY 1: Pray for the twenty families that are currently being housed through Red Mountain Grace. Pray Red Mountain Grace apartments would be places of warm Christian hospitality and harbors of safety this holiday season.
DAY 2: Pray for the gospel to be known and for lives to be changed through the work and words of the staff and volunteers at Red Mountain Grace. Pray the guests would find comfort and peace through the Lord Jesus Christ as they walk through the valley of medical trials, especially in this Christmas season.
DAY 3: Pray for the social workers and medical professionals caring for the families and their loved ones currently residing with Red Mountain Grace. Pray for the Lord to give them wisdom for how best to care for their patients and loved ones.
DAY 4: Pray for relief from financial stress for the guests of Red Mountain Grace. Pray insurance would cover procedures needed and that time away from work would not be a hindrance to receiving care.
DAY 5: Pray for God to strengthen and guide the staff and volunteers and equip them with what they need to serve the sick and their families well. Ask Him to continue to encourage those serving on the front lines of Red Mountain Grace so they can be an encouragement to others.
DAY 6: Praise God for those that support Red Mountain Grace, spiritually and financially. Pray for Him to continue to raise up new donors, board members, and volunteers to continue to love visitors coming to our city facing medical crises.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our long-termers serving in SE Asia, Chris and Joanna R. Chris and Joanna are working to reach a large unreached people group with the Good News. 99.41% of this people group are Muslim. But, God is working, and there is a small known network of underground house churches.
DAY 1: Pray for their family while they are in the states until April. Pray for refreshment and meaningful times with family and friends. Pray for good time management and balance as they navigate home schooling and a busy schedule during their time in the states.
DAY 2: Pray for God to continue working in the lives of their girls. Pray they would understand and respond to the gospel, surrendering their lives to Jesus when the time is right.
DAY 3: Pray for their team as they are currently going through transitions and re-evaluating strategies and methods. Ask the Lord to give them wisdom and discernment, and pray they will work and serve with humility and unity as a team.
DAY 4: Ask the Lord to bless ongoing training and discipleship efforts for new believers and the house churches. Pray the house churches will continue to grow in spiritual health and vitality.
DAY 5: Pray for continued opportunities to share the gospel through the ongoing efforts involving their water filter project. Pray for national partners who are out on the forefronts daily sharing the gospel and encouraging the network of underground house churches.
DAY 6: Pray those who are unreached with the Good News will hear and respond to the gospel. Pray for believers and the network of underground house churches. Pray these believers will continue to grow in their knowledge and faith and to boldly share with those around them.
