Pray for the Church
Praise God for the time we have each year to reflect upon Him fulfilling His promise to send the Redeemer, His Son, Jesus Christ. Ask Him to use us to share His good news with all those still lost in their sins. Pray for many to repent and put their faith in Jesus during this holiday season.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for King’s Home. For 50 years King’s Home has been home to thousands of teens, women and kids seeking refuge, hope, and help from domestic violence, neglect, abandonment, homelessness, and other difficult and impoverished conditions and circumstances. King’s Home’s purpose is to serve Christ by serving youth, women, and mothers with children. We are also praying for Grace Life Baptist Church and Pastor Joel Frederick.
DAY 1: Pray for the King’s Home residents who don’t know Christ to come to know Him as their loving Lord and Savior. Pray the youth, women, and children touched by King’s Home will be drawn to Him for strength to heal and rise above their circumstances.
DAY 2: Pray for stable mental and emotional health for the youth, women, and children supported by King’s Home. Please pray against fear, rage, hopelessness, anxiety and depression that some residents struggle with due to trauma in their story. Pray for healing for their minds and hearts.
DAY 3: Pray for financial provision for all the King’s Home programs. Spring and summer are historically low periods for giving. Please pray for the fruitfulness of the funding efforts to provide for all of their residents’ needs, especially in the midst of the rising prices of gas, food, etc.
DAY 4: Pray for King’s Home house parents and direct-care staff, those who are on the “front lines” of care for the residents. The house parents have a challenging job that is 24/7 caring for the King’s Home youth, many of whom arrive with behavioral issues. Those in direct care need an abundance of grace, patience, and energy. Pray they would be encouraged in the Word daily, have rich fellowship with others, get the support they need and feel re-energized after their time off.
DAY 5: Pray for the right staff to fill open positions at King’s Home. Much like the rest of the country, filling open staff positions continues to be a major challenge. Please pray for God to bring the right people to love and encourage the youth, women, and children of King’s Home.
DAY 6: Pray the King’s Home mission would be fulfilled. Pray their work would glorify God. Pray their homes would remain Christ-centered. Pray King’s Home staff and volunteers would exhibit both compassion and competence in caring for the residents. Pray the residents’ emotional, mental, physical, relational, and spiritual needs would be met.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for a translation project in Northern India. Through the Global Offering we were able to fund the translation of The Big Picture Story Bible into Hindi. This resource is extremely useful for the church, particularly families learning the Bible. It is especially helpful for pastors, fathers, and mothers in sharing the main idea of the stories of the Bible so they can teach them faithfully to their churches and families.
DAY 1: Christian resources in Hindi are extremely lacking. Pray the Lord would provide for additional resources and translations in Hindi to support discipling making in and through the local church in India.
DAY 2: The Big Picture Story Bible does a great job of precisely communicating the “big picture” of God’s story from the Bible. Pray this resource will help give readers a good, biblical understanding of who God is and our relationship with him. Ask God to bless those who read it with understanding, and pray they will share it with others.
DAY 3: Pray for new believers who read The Big Picture Story Bible in Hindi to grasp the bigger picture of the Bible they are reading for the first time and to understand how all of the Bible fits together.
DAY 4: Ask the Lord to help families learn the story of the Bible for the first time and to use it in family worship times so they can all learn the bigger story of the Bible together. Pray fathers will learn and grow in biblical knowledge and teach their families.
DAY 5: Pray for pastors to use this as a resource to guide them in their preaching and to stay on track with the main point of the text they are teaching. Ask the Lord to give them understanding of how their text fits within the larger context of God’s story.
DAY 6: Thank God for His provision of resources that enabled The Big Picture Story Bible to be translated into Hindi. Ask the Lord to bless our church, and pray we will continue to be obedient and faithful and not grow weary and give sacrificially for the spread of the gospel to the nations.
