Pray for the Church
Praise God for His sovereign rule over all things from before time began and through every occurrence today. Ask for His wisdom and guidance as we strive to navigate and address the troubles and tragedies we face in our world. Pray we will have grace with one another and be known for our love of each other and our neighbors here in our city, in our country and around the world. Pray for God to provide healing to and for the recovery of the officers and civilian injured in the shootings in Dallas. Pray for God’s comfort and peace for the familes and friends of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, as well as those of Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, Michael J. Smith, Brent Thompson, Patrick Zamarripa, and the other officers injured in Dallas, and that their ultimate hope will be found in the gospel of Christ. Pray we will serve as beacons of hope, shining light on the truth of the gospel in the midst of a hurting world, and that God will receive much glory from the unity of His people, the proclamation of the message of reconciliation which He has entrusted to us, and the work of redemption accomplished among us which only He has the power to enact.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Widows First, a nonprofit organization aiming to serve and care for widows by performing general maintenance and home repair. We are also praying for Redeemer Community Church and Pastor Joel Brooks.
DAY 1: Pray for all Christ-followers in Birmingham and around the world to honor and care for widows, especially those in their own family. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained from the world. James 1:27
DAY 2: Pray for God to continue blessing Widows First with volunteers, church partners, and opportunities to network with other nonprofits and small groups to care for widows in our city.
DAY 3: Pray for the spiritual and physical wellbeing of those being served by Widows First. Pray that they will respond in faith to the demonstration and declaration of the gospel.
DAY 4: Pray that God would supply all that is needed to financially sustain and grow this ministry.
DAY 5: Pray for more skilled laborers to join the Widows First volunteer team so that all pending work projects can be accomplished and more widows can be served. ()
DAY 6: Pray for the Widows First staff and volunteers as they minister to widows, widowers, elderly couples, and their families.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Mid-Termer, Reagan W. serving in the Middle East. Reagan was sent out at the beginning of May and will return at the end of this month. He currently is working on a team engaging unreached people, building relationships, and sharing the gospel in anticipation that someone will believe. Join us this week as we pray for Reagan.
DAY 1: Praise God for the opportunities He has given Reagan to build friendships in the Middle East. Pray for God to provide more opportunities for Reagan to share.
DAY 2: Pray for Reagan to be bold in his gospel witness with the guys he has met and become friends with.
DAY 3: Reagan has many friends in college who are from the Middle East that he has shared the gospel with. Pray that his time in the Middle East this summer will serve as another opportunity to deepen his relationships with friends and to allow them to listen to the truth he has to share.
DAY 4: Pray for the guys Reagan has shared with to repent and believe in Christ. Pray for their salvation.
DAY 5: Pray for more workers to go and share the gospel. Pray for more men from Brook Hills to go and continue the work Reagan has been able to participate in and push forward.
DAY 6: Pray for Reagan as he finishes his time in the Middle East. Pray for Reagan to be able to focus on the task at hand and to close up his time with joy.
The Lord Our God
Verse 1
Promise maker promise keeper
You finish what You begin
Our provision through the desert
You see it through till the end
You see it through till the end

The Lord our God is ever faithful
Never changing through the ages
From this darkness You will lead us
And forever we will say
You're the Lord our God
Verse 2
In the silence in the waiting
Still we can know You are good
All Your plans are for Your glory
Yes we can know You are good
Yes we can know You are good
Bridge
We won't move without You
We won't move without You
You're the light of all and all that we need
(REPEAT)
Christ is Risen
Verse 1
Let no one caught in sin remain
Inside the lie of inward shame
But fix our eyes upon the cross
And run to Him who showed great love
And bled for us
Freely You've bled for us
Chorus 1
Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with Him again
Come awake come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Verse 2
Beneath the weight of all our sin
You bowed to none but heaven's will
No scheme of hell no scoffer's crown
No burden great can hold You down
In strength You reign
Forever let Your church proclaim
Bridge
O death where is your sting
O hell where is your victory
O church come stand in the light
The glory of God has defeated the night
Singing O death where is your sting
O hell where is your victory
O church come stand in the light
Our God is not dead He's alive He's alive
Great Are You Lord

You give life You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope You restore ev'ry heart that is broken
And great are You Lord

It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only

And all the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry these bones will sing
Great are You Lord

Jesus Son of God
Verse 1
You came down from Heaven's throne
This earth You formed was not Your home
A love like this the world had never known
A crown of thorns to mock Your name
Forgiveness fell upon Your face
A love like this the world had never known
Chorus
On the altar of our praise
Let there be no higher name
Jesus Son of God
You laid down Your perfect life
You are the sacrifice
Jesus Son of God
You are Jesus Son of God
Verse 2
You took our sin You bore our shame
You rose to life You defeated the grave
And a love like this the world has never known
'Cause You took our sin You bore our shame
You rose to life You defeated the grave
A love like this the world has never known
Bridge
Be lifted higher than all You've overcome
Your name be louder than any other song
There is no power that can come against Your love
The cross was enough
The cross was enough
