Pray for the Church
Pray for our Elders and ask God to keep them from temptation and to help them guard their hearts. Ask the Spirit to convict us of our sin and lead us to repentance. Pray for us all to strive for purity in our lives. Pray our lives will serve to point others to Christ.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the ministry of WorkFaith Birmingham (WFB), a gospel-centered 501(c)3 ministry, focused on workforce preparation and life development for adults with employment barriers. WFB was started by Pastor Keith Stanley, our Local Missions Pastor, to provide an avenue to come alongside adults desiring to develop the skills, ethics, and values necessary to obtain and retain employment. So far, they have served over 400 graduates with an 80% success rate. We are also praying for 6th Avenue Baptist Church and Pastor Jim Cantelow.
DAY 1: Pray for all the graduates of this program as they move into full-time employment that they will know Christ, continue to develop a biblical worldview, and get connected to a local church. Pray for God to grant favor to them in their job search.
DAY 2: Pray for their partnership with The Lovelady Center as they serve and prepare the ladies who are about to graduate there.
Pray for the ladies to have the confidence and discipline they need to obtain employment and continue moving forward in life.
DAY 3: Pray for their new partnership with The Salvation Army, that together they can help empower adults overcoming addictions and homelessness with the skills and values they need to enjoy God’s good design for life, including work and faith, through a relationship with Christ.
DAY 4: Pray for the over 80% of graduates who have kept a job for over a year, that they will be able to move forward now into a career that provides sustainable wages for them and their families.
DAY 5: Pray for wisdom for the board and junior board as they seek to give overall guidance and support to the ministry and help raise resources for the ministry. Pray God will send additional board and junior board members who will be advocates for this ministry, and who are living gospel-centered lives.
DAY 6: Pray for God to provide the resources needed to continue this important ministry in the city and that WFB would receive enough resources to hire a full-time Executive Director.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills mid-termer, Tyler B., serving in Europe. Tyler was sent out almost two years ago as a mid-termer. He currently serves with a long-term team engaging refugee communities living in Europe. Tyler is finishing up his term in Europe and will be returning home soon. We are also praying for our short-term team in North Africa.
DAY 1: Time is quickly coming to an end for Tyler’s term in Europe. Pray for God to be gracious to Tyler as he says goodbye to many of his friends and to those he has been engaging with the gospel.
DAY 2: Pray for Tyler’s transition back to the states to be smooth. Pray for the details of moving and getting set back up for life and work to not overwhelm Tyler but be something that he anticipates in this next season of life.
DAY 3: Tyler has been investing in a group of Iraqi teenage boys at the refugee center nearby. Last week, they were transferred out of that refugee center to another facility. Pray that the gospel they heard from Tyler would take root in their hearts and that someone else will come along to water the seed so it can grow.
DAY 4: Each Thursday night Tyler goes over to spend time with a refugee family he has built a friendship with. This week, that family’s 17-year-old son will have open-heart surgery. Pray for God to comfort this family and use their son’s surgery to bring them to an understanding of their need for Christ. Pray for Tyler to have opportunities to minister to his friends and share the gospel.
DAY 5: Tyler will be meeting with some of his Mormon friends this week. Pray that he would be clear and bold with his gospel witness. Pray for these friends to have open hearts to hear.
DAY 6: Pray for Tyler to maximize the remaining weeks he has left in his city. Pray for God to renew Tyler’s strength as he proclaims Christ and tells others about the good news of salvation.

This Is Amazing Grace
Verse 1
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger
The King of Glory the King above all kings
Verse 2
Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
Who leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of Glory the King above all kings
Chorus
This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You laid down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh Jesus I sing for all that You've done for me

Who brings our chaos back into order
Who makes the orphan a son and daughter
The King of Glory the King of Glory

Who rules the nations with truth and justice
Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance
The King of Glory the King above all kings
Bridge
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain

(REPEAT)
No Condemnation
There is no condemnation
For those in Christ Jesus
By His blood I have been made free
There is no condemnation
For those in Christ Jesus
By His blood I have been redeemed
Because of His forgiveness
I don't have to live with shame anymore
Because of His redemption
There's no more condemnation, there's no more
Christ who died raised to life
Made a way for me
There's no depth, there's no height
That can separate me
Before the Throne of God Above
Verse 1
Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is love
Who ever lives and pleads for me
My name is graven on His hands
My name is written on His heart
I know that while in heav’n He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart
Verse 2
When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free
For God the Just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me
Verse 3
Behold Him there, the risen Lamb
My perfect, spotless Righteousness
The great unchangeable I AM
The King of glory and of grace
One with Himself, I cannot die
My soul is purchased by His blood
My life is hid with Christ on high
With Christ my Savior and my God
With Christ my Savior and my God
