Praise God for the gift of prayer. Ask Him to help us all apply what we’ve learned about prayer into our daily lives and practice. Praise God for hearing and answering our prayers. Ask Him to grow us all to be a people of prayer.

This week we are praying for Iglesia la Conexión (formerly the Brook Hills Hispanic Congregation) and their ministry to one another, to our city, and to the nations. Iglesia la Conexión moved to Hoover where their attendance on Sundays and at outreach events has been growing regularly. Through their ministry and service, they have welcomed new members into their congregation, met physical needs of their community, and served refugees and immigrants as they settle in Birmingham. The gospel is being proclaimed clearly to the nations through the ministry of Iglesia la Conexión. Please join us in praying for them and Pastor Abner Aguilar.

DAY 1: Pray for ILC’s upcoming outreach events. ILC will be hosting a back-to-school event for the community on Saturday, July 27. Pray as visitors and families come on campus for these events they will feel welcomed by the ILC members and be open to gospel conversations.

DAY 2: Pray the ILC leaders, empowered by the Holy Spirit, will have God’s wisdom to oversee their many avenues of ministry: evangelism, discipleship, small groups, worship, and missions.

DAY 3: Ask God to use our Hispanic congregation to make an impact in Hoover and across Birmingham, especially among Spanish speaking individuals and families, through outreach initiatives such as neighborhood small groups, music classes, after school reading program, biblical counseling, and special events.

DAY 4: Pray for God to raise up leaders to meet their goal of starting new Spanish-speaking small groups in Hoover. Pray our Hispanic congregation would boldly and passionately share the gospel with the Spanish-speaking community in the Hoover area.

DAY 5: Pray during this time of uncertainty for many immigrants members of our Hispanic congregation would put their trust in God for protection and guidance and would remain focused on their mission to glorify God by making disciples of every language, tribe, and nation.

DAY 6: Pray for God to continue to add members to Iglesia la Conexión and for the members to continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

This week we are praying for our summer mid-termers, JP and Olivia, as they transition back home from serving this summer.

DAY 1: Pray for JP and Olivia to adjust and acclimate well as they enter back into life in the states.

DAY 2: Pray as they return they will receive encouragement, affirmation, and support from those around them.

DAY 3: Pray for God to bless the seeds sown during JP and Olivia’s time abroad. 

DAY 4: Pray for the Lord to remind them of the good work they have done and that He will be faithful to complete it. Pray “the God of hope would fill them with all joy and peace as they trust in Him.”

DAY 5: Pray for rest and restoration for JP and Olivia as they return home from a very taxing season, physically and spiritually.

DAY 6: Ask the Lord to guide them as they return to life in the states, providing confirmation and assurance in next steps as they continue to follow Him.
