Pray for the Church
Praise God for all the ways He has worked in and through our lives and our church over this past year. Thank Him for how He has so faithfully sustained us and granted us perseverance throughout 2024. Ask Him to grow our hope in response to all He has done, continues to do, and will do in the future. Pray for Him to help us all faithfully follow Him wherever He may lead us in 2025 and to confidently rely upon His Spirit to empower us as bold witnesses to HIs gospel here and around the world.
Pray for the City
This week, we are praying for The WellHouse (www.the-wellhouse.org), a local Christian ministry extending God’s grace to adult and teenage women who are victims of human trafficking. The WellHouse has been providing opportunities for restoration for hurting women for over a decade. From first contact on the crisis-call to time together after being rescued, The WellHouse ministry employs a multidisciplinary approach to recovery as they address all areas of need in a safe environment where trust and faith begin to grow. They partner with WorkFaith Birmingham as the women get ready to leave and go to work. We are also praying for The Worship Center and Pastor Van Moody.
Day 1: Pray for the spiritual growth of all rescued survivors, specifically that all who enter The WellHouse. Pray for them as they journey through healing, that they would experience the comfort of the Father as they process and move forward.
Day 2: Pray for all the rescued women. Pray for those that have graduated and exited The WellHouse to find shelter and safety in Christ and in fellowship with His church. Pray for The WellHouse’s newest rescues, that they would find a place of peace, safety, and healing.
Day 3: Pray for the women who have not yet been rescued. Pray that they would hear the Lord calling them to Himself and find the courage to reach out for help. Pray that God will bring justice by exposing and eliminating human-trafficking in our city and around the world.
Day 4: Pray for the leadership of WellHouse. Pray that God would provide them with wisdom, grace, and strength as they care for the rescued women in the emergency, short- term, and long-term programs.
Day 5: Pray for financial provision for The Wellhouse. Pray that God’s resources would continue to provide abundantly for the needs of the women finding safety and security at The Wellhouse.
Day 6: Pray for those at WellHouse Child and those youth in process to enter this program. Pray that they would feel loved, find healing, and know that they are a child on the One True King.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our long-termers J & C, and their girls as we commission them to serve in the Middle East. This family has faithfully served overseas and been back in the states for a time. The Lord has called them back to full time ministry in a new context. Please pray for them as they prepare to go.
Day 1: Ask the Lord to give this family strength and peace as they prepare to leave and say goodbye to family and friends and transition to life overseas. Pray for faithfulness and that they would abide in Christ in their marriage and in discipling their girls.
Day 2: Pray for their transition as a family to a new location and full time language learning. Ask God to give them supernatural understanding and comprehension in their language learning.
Day 3: Ask the Lord to give them humility as they learn a new culture, make friends, and get to know their teammates.
Day 4: Pray that C and the girls will settle into a good routine with school and daily rhythms. Ask the Lord to provide friendships for C and the girls with local people and that he would give them opportunities to share the gospel in those friendships.
Day 5: Pray that God will give J wisdom and discernment as he leads his family. Ask the Lord to draw him to the Word and prayer and that he and C would be strengthened and equipped for the work. Ask the Lord to provide for their every need.
Day 6: Pray that the Holy Spirit transforms the hearts of the people in their community as J & C seek to engage them with the Good News. Ask God to glorify himself in their lives as they seek to proclaim Christ and make disciples.
