Pray for the Church
Praise God for His daily provision in our lives and for the merciful forgiveness He so readily offers us. Ask God to convict us of any sin in our lives and to draw us to Himself in repentance for redemption and reconciliation. Ask Him to develop us into forgiving people.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Hearts in Hands, Inc. (heartsinhands.org), a local Christian non-profit ministry that provides home repair services and wheelchair ramp construction for poor and elderly people in the greater Birmingham area. Hearts in Hands strives to engage the poor with the gospel while meeting their physical needs. Hearts in Hands is led by Carl Payne, who attends Brook Hills. We are also praying for Double Oak Community Church and Pastor Adam Robinson.
DAY 1: Pray Hearts in Hands will remain steadfast in their mission to exalt the name of Jesus Christ in Birmingham as they serve low-income homeowners. Ask God to soften homeowner’s hearts to the gospel and draw them to Himself.
DAY 2: Pray for God to provide wisdom to the Hearts in Hands staff and leadership team as they respond to those requesting assistance.
DAY 3: Pray word of this ministry reaches people in need so they will encounter the love of God through the ministry of Hearts in Hands. Pray for financial provision to be able to care for each person’s home repair needs.
DAY 4: Pray for unity as the Body of Christ among volunteers from different church serve together. Pray they would form relationships with one another and with those they serve.
DAY 5: Pray for God to provide volunteers with serving hearts, including those with construction skills who can help with rotten and unsafe floors, so the most critical needs can be met. Pray for safety for each volunteer as they are serving with Hearts in Hands.
DAY 6: Pray for connections with other non-profits and churches so Hearts in Hands can refer clients to receive help with any other needs they may have.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our team working with the Baloch people and their efforts to reach the Baloch with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
DAY 1: Pray the Baloch team would press into the urgency of the gospel and share the Good News with courageous proclamation.
DAY 2: Pray the team would continue to grow in cross-cultural wisdom and servanthood, displaying the love of Christ to each other and those around them.
DAY 3: Pray the team would engage in fervent prayer and fasting with complete dependence on the Spirit to work in the hearts of the Baloch and draw them to Himself.
DAY 4: Pray for great wisdom and discernment as the team continues to seek strategic access to the Baloch people.
DAY 5: Pray for the team as they disciple new Baloch believers. Pray the team would be an encouragement to them as they grow in their faith and potentially face persecution.
DAY 6: Ask the Lord to protect the Baloch team physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Pray they would continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel.
